Flynn Surveillance Required Approval at Highest Levels[Herridge]
Fox News insider ^ | 2/14/2017 | Catherine Herridge

See linked video

Herridge said that identifying the American caller for surveillance purposes, in this case Flynn, "needs sign-off at the highest levels."

House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) said authorization would have been needed to unmask Flynn's name.

"If in fact the press reports are right, someone made the decision to deliberately listen to General Flynn's phone calls," said Nunes, calling it "unprecedented, unwarranted and flat-out wrong."

>>authorization would have been needed to unmask Flynn’s name.

How much “authorization” did Bwadley Manning and Snowden need?

How much did the 3 brothers engaging in espionage from their IT perches in the hill need?

Zips in the wire.

No doubt a FISA judge. When this was announced back in late November the press had a day or two of stories. Now it’s all they can talk about

The judge would have to be impeached and that won’t happen. Obozo had to approve this so it is his.

You want there to be criminal accountability thete won’t be

I believe they were not surveilling Flynn, but rather surveilling Russian spies and diplomats operating in the US, who Flynn turned out to be chatty with, right?

Of course there is. And President Trump, his administration, and the American people who voted for him had better get on the stick and fight or this Presidency will be over before it started.

It was obama doing another hit to undermine the Trump administration. Obama and his POS thugs don’t give a rip about our nation doing well. It’s all about their power.

obama has been so destructive to our nation. It will take a generation to clear it up.

Next time the Harley riders go through DC, they need to pass by obama’s house — just to sort of to let him know we’re here.

my question exactly. If they are listening to the Russian ambassador, and I would just assume that is standard operating procedure, and he gets a call that says, “hey good buddy, this is Flynn, keep those deposits coming to Mr. Trump’s secret accounts, because we’re definitely rolling back those there sanctions”, how would they not know who that is?

The article about contacts with Russians says they made a conscious decision to try and find out if Trump people were violating the law. Obama did this to spy on Trump to help Hillary’s Russia narrative. Releasing it is also a serious crime.

Six months ago....I would have said that the Senate would not convene to impeach some judge on an episode like this. Today? I think it’s fifty-fifty chance. McCain would be given enough rope to go walk out and try to halt this, but I think half of the GOP Senators are ready to give McCain the rope and let him dangle out there.

Note, it’s the House that would write up the charges, and I think they have more than enough support to do this.

It does require a two-thirds majority of the senate and I doubt if the GOP could find enough votes. But here’s the thing....for those ten-odd Democratic senators running in 2018 in Trump-won states....you really have to question how the heck you’d win the election if you were against convicting the judge involved.

The judge himself? He’s mostly finished because it’ll come up in every future case that he’s not capable of fair decisions.

If that is how it happened, that’s is plausible. However, if they first monitored Flynn, then an order would be needed.

Bingo!

I love imagining your scenario with the Harley riders. Please ping me if this happens and you post a report about it.

It was illegal to send around any transcript without redacting anything identifying Flynn. Listen to Herridge at the link.

NO! They cannot identify Flynn in any transcript. To do so is a felony.

According to Edward Snowden’s documents, they are actually capturing ALL the data (not just metadata) on every electronic message in the world (phone, email,etc.). There are plenty of people allowed to look at the data (especially on the technical help side), and it isn't masked till it is reviewed. Then, the people requesting the data have to be approved for it to be unmasked for THEM.

Considering Trump is widely hated throughout ALL DC agencies and contractors (since he threatens their lively-hood)), anyone at a tech level comparable to his could access it before the masking process. Everyone in DC reads the WaPo, and knows who their reporters are. Those reporters (and many others) are begging for any dirt on Trump or any of his people.

THAT, IMHO, is how the transcript got to reporters. Probably shopped around till someone bit, too.
