Big Brother is watching you: Jim Rogers prophesizes death of cash & total govt control of spending

The time will come when you won't be able to buy a cup of coffee without being traced, warns investment guru Jim Rogers. To control people, governments will increasingly seek to hunt down cash spending, he adds.

“Governments are always looking out for themselves first, and it's the same old thing that has been going on for hundreds of years. The Indians recently did the same thing. They withdrew 86 percent of the currency in circulation, and they have now made it illegal to spend more than, I think it's about $4,000 in any cash transaction. In France you cannot use more than, I think it's a €1,000,”said Rogers in an interview with MacroVoices Podcast.

“Many countries are already doing this. Some states in the US you cannot make cash transactions above a certain amount. Governments love it. Then they can control you. If you want to go and buy a cup of coffee, they know how many you drink, where you buy them, etc., if they can all put it into electronic formats and they will. The world is all going electronic,” the investor said.

According to Rogers, governments will claim they are doing it for the public good, not for themselves.

“When it's done, the governments are going to be very, very happy they are going to say they're doing it for our own good, this is not them, this is for our good. That they're doing this, but it’s coming, and it's going to be a whole different world in which we live. Probably we are not going to have as many freedoms as we have now even though we are already losing our freedoms at a significant pace,” Rodgers told the radio.

This month, the European Commission proposed a bill targeting cash payments.

Won’t be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast? Mark in forehead or hand? Amazing how contemporary the Bible is.

My local store scans my license every time I buy beer. I know that info is being kept somewhere.

This is wishful thinking disguised as a prediction of the future. The left wants to take away cash so they can finally, once and for all time, “equalize” everyone by taking money from the producers and giving it to the slackers who vote democrat.

I’ve been ridiculed so much on this forum about this, that’s it’s almost pointless to even post. But here goes...

Stuff is coming to a head so fast, that what the book of Revelation amazingly states will happen in the “end times” is literally upon us.

The technology that it describes is already here. RFID microchipping is a “beast technology” that will control every aspect of every life. Most people think we have “years” to avoid this. We don’t. Months perhaps. All it’ll take is one crazy act of terror or the “crisis” all the politicos have been talking about for years.

And there’s one way to escape this insanity. Christ is your avenue of escape.

Romans 10:9-10
John 6:29
Acts 16:31

Time isn’t on anybody’s side.

Yes, you can. It's just that the banks are required to report transactions over $10,000. And amounts that approach that limit are flagged by...the IRS I believe. The Bank Secrecy Act of 1970.

Yes, I've noticed you buy an awful lot of beer. It's right there on the internet for all to see.

LOL! And Starbucks will lead the way to Hell. At the Starbucks near my office about 6 out of 10 pay with their cell phone. Another 3 percent pay with credit cards. I'm among the 2% holdouts who pay in cash. The paying with the phones is surreal.

Federal law. As for amounts below $10,000, banks are required to report suspicious transactions that appear to evade the limit such as depositing $9,900 multiple times.

Some banks have been too strict reporting businesses making daily deposits from their sales.

I completely agree. What we are witnessing now is Ephesians 6: 12 in action. Never in my lifetime have I witnessed such unhinged hysteria and uncivilized behavior by so many in the press, entertainment, Hollywood, and by elected politicians. While I am still celebrating Trump’s election, it is clear now that his assuming power has only accelerated the descent into depravity by the Left and the godless. As you correctly stated, we are only one small crisis away from descending into absolute chaos, economically, socially, financially, and militarily. May we be sober and ready. Jesus Christ is coming soon.

Jim Rogers and Soros were partners once, but they split up a long time ago. I don’t think they have much politics in common.

In 2010 the crash was two years away.

In early 2016 the crash was less than a year away.
