The media have figured out they can’t bring down or impeach President Trump. So they are targeting his Cabinet officials and top advisers one by one. In the case of Michael T. Flynn, the media think they have hit pay dirt. The Washington Post has led the charge, using top-secret surveillance intercepts of communications between Flynn and the Russian Ambassador to the U.S. It’s more evidence that the CIA, and perhaps the National Security Agency (NSA), are out to destroy Trump’s national security adviser.
“The knives are out for Flynn,” said one administration official quoted in the paper. The knives are computer keyboards in the hands of scribblers for a paper whose owner, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, has a business relationship with the CIA. The Post is wielding the knives provided by anonymous intelligence officials. Nobody knows this better than the Post’s Watergate reporter, Bob Woodward, who said on Fox News that the CIA was using unverified “garbage” allegations in a campaign to destroy Trump himself. Since Trump has survived, the campaign has taken a new form against Flynn, a close adviser to Trump on foreign policy who had campaigned with him and by his side.

The Washington Post, the NYTs and Politico are hardly unbiased sources when it comes to General Flynn.
There is plenty of reason to believe they are obfuscating, shading meaning, and outright lying.
The big story should be how operatives in the Intellegence agencies are using the full tools of those agencies to bring down people in the administration that they dislike.
Who is to rule? The Intelligence agencies and their friends in the Estabishment media, or the Trump Administration?
That is the question.

PCPOET7 also raises a good point that General Flynn was a sacrifice, perhaps intentional, to lay the foundation for any politician or public person who, other than the President, seeks to influence foreign affairs by making unauthorized agreements under the Logan Act, an Act that was passed more than 200 years ago.
The Logan Act makes it a federal crime to represent the United States or portray an official capacity to enter negotiations and make deals when such ‘official’ capacity is unauthorized and therefore fraudulent.
The Logan Act emerged as a reason to prosecute General Flynn even though the Act has never been used before in history although there were many instances where it applied. For example, Jimmy Carter after leaving the Presidency began talks with the North Koreans over their nuclear program without any appointment from then President Clinton. Carter came away proclaiming the North Koreans had agreed to set aside their pursuit of developing nuclear weapons. The Logan Act was never mentioned in connection with Carter.
The Logan Act may not even be Constitutional, but after more than 200 years of its passage, it was dug up by enemies of the President as a means to take down his National Security Director.
So now that this Act has emerged as a political weapon, it is fair for the President to use it in the same manner. Obama, Kerry, Clinton and all others who are unauthorized but who pretend to act as representing the United States and its people before foreign powers, are now in the crosshairs of the Logan Act.

Most of these are incontrovertible facts, including the fact that Flynn did indeed attend and speak at the 10-year anniversary gala for the state-run propaganda Russia Today, seating two seats away from KGB/FSB Putin himself. And that he continued appearing on their network afterwards. This is in addition to his suggesting to his Russian pals that the sanctions would be lifted (by Trump), I believe including the ones regarding Russia's invasion of Crimea that all of Trump's appointees agree on keeping (see my prior posts for their statements on Russia and their invasion of Crimea).
