The word “editrix” does not imply youth; it’s merely the feminine form for “editor”. I liked seeing it here because it’s now politically incorrect to use such forms, viz.: “aviatrix”, “actress”, “comedienne”, “hostess”.

Okay, I see. Probably brings youth to your mind because, years ago, the females being dubbed “-trix” would have been young women in roles that had been traditionally held by men.
