Build a giant dome over it like they did with Springfield in the Simpsons. Then air condition it. Added bonus: the nutters couldn’t get out and bother the rest of us.
Fans on the beach to pull in cool air from the ocean, and fans on the hills to suck out the smog. That should work great!
The problem is that the stupid doesn’t hurt enough.

They need to cancel daylight saving time. The extra hour of daylight is what causes global warming.

3 degrees over 20 years? That sounds doable. The first five or six years you can show no results or fudge the numbers a bit, and still call it a success. After that the mayor will be in a different office and will have basked in the glory of his success. He will probably be governor by then. The next mayor can scrap the program with little or no fanfare and the whole thing will be forgotten. But the real goal will have been met, which was to get the mayor his accolades.

Since there are about 2 million crimaliens in Los Angeles and most generate about 150 Watts continuously, sending the Mexicans back home should make Los Angeles cooler.
It’s actually not that stupid, not nearly as stupid as the “stop global warming” attempt itself. I lived in L.A. until about a year ago, where I lived was somewhat in the middle of the city, but locally, it was a superblock with thousands of trees and half of the area covered in grass and shrubbery. On any given summer day, the temperature difference between my patio and the intersection about 200 yards away was 10-15 degrees. It’s idiotic to spend trillions to lower the global temperature by maybe half of a degree at best, when you can plant some trees and put in a lawn and lower it where you live by 10 degrees.
shut down the LATimes (it pumps zillions of tons of hot air into the atomosphere every day)
