The sister of Karina Vetrano’s accused killer said Monday that her sibling was framed—and that he was only arrested because he’s black.

“I think the cops framed him because he’s a black person. They couldn’t find anyone else to pin this on, so they pinned it on my brother,” Theresa Forbes, 36, told reporters.

Forbes’s half-brother, Chanel Lewis, 20, was charged Sunday with murdering the Queens jogger in August based on DNA evidence and two videotaped confessions, authorities and law-enforcement sources have said.

Asked about the alleged forensic evidence against her sibling, Forbes said,“The DNA lies sometimes. They wanted to get confirmation so they framed him for murd

Listen half “sister,” you don’t get charged with rape and murder on a hunch. Your half “brother” looks to be about as guilty as the day is long. Put him in Riker’s and throw away the key!

That’s right. Take out that race card. Never mind your brother’s DNA was inside and on the skin and cell phone of Katrina Vetrano. Never mind your brother has previously expressed hatred of women and tried to stab girls at his high school (which is a school exclusively for special ed and behavioral problem students). Never mind that your brother was seen in an ER for scratches to his hand the day after the crime, and came up with a baloney story that “he was attacked by muggers”. And never mind that your brother confessed to the crime. Nope. You wave that race card, girl. Maybe it will cool you off in your absolutely ridiculous and totally misplaced rage.

Cite the last time DNA evidence was proven false, please.

Re: “The DNA lies sometimes”...

Maybe she’s just really bad with numbers. Because I think the probability with DNA matches are somewhere in the neighborhood of several billion to one. Maybe she thinks that’s a good probability that the “DNA” found on the dead girl’s body wasn’t his.

While DNA doesn’t “lie,” it should not be accepted as the end-all of evidence in a case. There are examples of DNA transfer from medics working one person going on to the body of the next person they worked. Sometimes busy inner-city medics are so much “on the go” they don’t always change out everything. My nephew works one such ambulance in downtown Atlanta, known locally as “the stab cab.” He’s basically a combat medic and it’s pretty messy.

But anyway, evidence should be more than just “we found your DNA there.” Of course, that whole “under the fingernails” thing just might be what the state needs. I’m just saying that you need to look at all possibilities before jumping to a conclusion.

As for pulling Chanel’s name out of a black hat, well, Teresa, it takes a little more than that, you know.

His DNA must have been on file already.
DNA, with no matching records is difficult.
But a relative who has DNA on file would be a close match, so you could narrow the suspects down, which has been done................
