if the reporting is correct, this was not the standard DNA test. It was some kind of general family DNA check. Several states have outlawed using that DNA because it casts too wide a net.
The authorities would have to have a chain of custody evidentiary DNA to tie him in. If this is the case he is toast.
Rikers only houses convicted offenders who have been sentenced to one year or less.
This guy is going to get a bit more than that, I would hope.

It was a familial DNA check of some kind. This is not telling the whole story. It could be that DNA lead to another DNA test.
It’s news because once again, that AH ended that young ladies life and so far the only comment from her relatives are allegation of racism in support of the murderer.
