D.C. sandwich chain owner learns there’s nothing liberals won’t boycott

If you’re a liberal these days, you may have trouble keeping up with all of the new actions coming out of the Trump White House which enrage you. If you’re a conservative you’ve probably already lost track of the number of things the liberals are marching, protesting about, condemning and boycotting. On that last point you can now add one more to the list. The evil ownership of Taylor Gourmet, a local chain of hoagie shops around the Beltway, has gone too far and drawn the ire of progressive activists. (For those of you from other parts of the country, a “hoagie” is just another regional name for a sub sandwich, grinder or whatever you call it in your area.) The specific target of liberal ire is Casey Patten, co-founder of the business.

So what has Patten done to enrage the Left? Did he endorse the travel ban? Pay his female employees less? Offer to feed the workers when they start building the wall? Nope. He was photographed shaking Donald Trump’s hand after a ceremony announcing new White House initiatives to boost small businesses. And that was enough to let slip the hounds of protest.

The co-founder of Taylor Gourmet angered some Washingtonians today by meeting with President Trump for a photo-op connected to his executive order cutting regulations for small businesses. Washington Post:

Casey Patten, who co-founded the local chain of hoagie shops in 2008, was photographed shaking hands with the president in the Roosevelt Room of the White House. The meeting was first reported by Popville.com, and quickly led to Twitter calls for a boycott from its patrons, many of whom reside in the District of Columbia, which voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton. Patten has not yet responded to multiple requests for comment. . .

There are more Conservatives that boycott businesses because of bad behaviors, I know I do. Target, Macy’s, Wild Buffalo Wings, Ben & Jerry’s, Panerea’s, Walmart CEO—BIG TIME HRC supporter, don’t like my Gun, or I don’t like men in my bathroom or dressing room. Tough, my business goes elsewhere.

And if your store says seasons greetings or happy holidays I don’t shop your store.

Patten said he “was invited by The White House to participate in a discussion surrounding issues facing small businesses. I was proud to have also had the opportunity to raise these issues in similar meetings with President Obama and his staff.”

Not near me, or I’d go buy a sandwich.

I can personally vouch for this restaurant -- I love Taylor Gourmet -- it's got great food, made from scratch, and modeled on Philadelphia's famous hoagie sandwiches with delicious sesame seed bread! Please patronize it whenever you can, freepers. (Just scroll down the web site and you wil see the many locations.

Started maybe 10 years ago with one location in NorthEast DC, and now has 11 locations all around the DC metro area, with 5 more in development. This is the kind of business success all small entrepreneurs dream of, especially in the difficult sector of fresh food.

Pinging this to the DCChapter list and the MAGA list. Please forgive me if this means you were pinged twice.

When Taylor Gourmet first started, one of the owners would drive to Philadelphia and back (6 hour round trip) every day to get the delicious to-die-for brick-oven bread from Philly’s Italian Market. It is sooooooooo good. Since their success and business expansion in DC, they have perfected a local supply.

See post 27. I lived in Philly for many years, and still can vouch for Taylor Gourmet.

The last good hoagie I had was in the mid-’70s in the Philly area. They are amazing.

Thanks for the ping, Albion Wilde.

It is things like this that make my face hurt from all the smiling I do each day when I read about Trump kicking sand in the faces of the liberal turds who delighted in Obama and his administration using any means possible to destroy this country and our relationships abroad.

Every time I see stories about liberals losing our mind because America elected Donald Trump, I have been spreading this text that came off of some guy's Facebook page that was posted on FR. When I hear someone condemning or boycotting someone for not agreeing with THEIR heinous choice of candidates, this below comes to mind.

I saw this after the election, taken from some guy named Brendan O'Neil's Facebook page, apparently as a response to some liberal whining about Trump, and how this country could have ever elected someone as evil and bad as him:

“TRUMP? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??”

It happened because you banned super-sized sodas.

And smoking in parks.

And offensive ideas on campus.

Because you branded people who oppose gay marriage ‘homophobic’, and people unsure about immigration ‘racist’.

Because you treated owning a gun and never having eaten quinoa as signifiers of fascism.

Because you thought correcting people’s attitudes was more important than finding them jobs.

Because you turned ‘white man’ from a description into an insult.

Because you used slurs like ‘denier’ and ‘dangerous’ against anyone who doesn’t share your eco- pieties.

Because you treated dissent as hate speech and criticism of Obama as extremism.

Because you talked more about gender-neutral toilets than about home repossessions.

Because you beautified Caitlyn Jenner.

Because you policed people’s language, rubbished their parenting skills, took a piss on their beliefs.

Because you cried when someone mocked the Koran but laughed when they mocked the Bible.

Because you said criticizing Islam is Islamophobia.

Because you kept telling people, “You can’t think that, you can’t say that, you can’t do that”.

Because you turned politics from something done by and for people to something done to them, for their own good.

Because you treated people like sh*t.

And people don’t like Being treated like sh*t.

Trump happened because of people like YOU.

Yep.

The difference is, you don’t go into the establishment, yell at the people in there, break their windows, assault their employees, keep other people from going in, or whatever.

You just exercise your prerogative as a consumer and free American to associate with and give money to whomever you want. If other people do it, fine. That is their business.

The gulf between liberals and conservatives on this could not be wider. They have to TELL you what you should and shouldn’t do.

The a-holes.

” I have it on good authority that Donald Trump eats food. I’ve also personally seen footage of him drinking water. Are you really going to associate yourselves with this monster by mimicking his actions? “

Lol
