I suppose this was bound to happen eventually. I noticed (and bookmarked) a story out of New Jersey back around Christmas regarding a “transgender boy” who was barred from joining the Cub Scouts. And just to be crystal clear here, when I say “boy” I’m not being disparaging of someone who is a few months shy of reaching adulthood. We’re talking about a little girl who is eight years old. And she’s very sad that she can’t be a Cub Scout. (North Jersey)
From the moment he joined, 8-year-old Joe Maldonado eagerly looked forward to camping trips and science projects as a member of the Cub Scouts. But his expectations were dashed after his mother said she received a phone call from a Scouting official who told her that Joe would no longer be allowed to participate because he was born a girl.
Kristie Maldonado said she was stunned because her son had been a member of Cub Scout Pack 87 in Secaucus for about a month and his transgender status had not been a secret. But some parents complained, an official from the Northern New Jersey Council of Boy Scouts told her — even though her son had been living as a boy for more than a year and was accepted as a boy at school, she said
Something has obviously gone very wrong in that home and it’s not the little girl’s fault whatsoever. At eight years of age kids aren’t thinking about sex and their bodies aren’t even close to puberty in all but the rarest cases. Eight year olds should be out playing hopscotch, jumping rope and getting into the usual sort of trouble that younger elementary school kids get into. But this one clearly lives with parents who are exposing her to massive doses of SJW propaganda and filling her head with strange ideas.
But “Joe̶#8221; (dear God, please tell me that you didn’t already legally change your little girl’s name to “Joseph”) may not have to worry for much longer. Now there’s been a decision handed down by the Boy Scouts (one rung up the ladder from Cub Scouts and Webelos) saying that these “transgender boys” will be admitted to their ranks. (Yahoo News)
The Boy Scouts of America says it will allow transgender children who identify as boys to enroll in its boys only programs.
The organization announced Monday that it had made the decision to base enrollment in boys only programs on the gender a child or parent lists on the application to become a scout. The organization had previously held a policy that relied on the gender listed on a child’s birth certificate.
A spokeswoman for the organization says it made the decision based on states and communities changing how gender is defined.
You know, I’d been hoping that a change of administration and a few Supreme Court decisions might get this situation under control, but at this point I’m beginning to fear that this destructive trend is already running so wild that it may be too late. What adults do is up to them… let’s be clear about that. Regardless of the fact that science clearly identifies two distinct and wonderfully different sexes and a quick check of your 23rd chromosomal pair will tell you which one you are, if you want to declare that you feel like the other gender, feel free. You can legally change your name, dress however you like and even get bits of your anatomy lopped off or modified if it makes you feel better. As long as you’re not actively forcing your choice on anyone else to the point where you are invading their privacy, what you do in your home or out in the public square is your business.
But we’re talking about kids here. This isn’t a social trend… it’s a criminal offense. (Or it most certainly should be.) At an age suitable to be in the Cub Scouts and even the earlier ranks of the Boy Scouts, children have no idea about these things and are easily influenced by what they pick up in the home and on social media. If you asked most eight year olds what they wanted to be when they grow up and offered them “firetruck” as one answer, probably half of them would raise their hands. It takes all of us long enough to come to terms with our bodies and our emerging sexuality when we’re growing up. The lucky ones have supportive, firm parents who assist with that. But these kids getting their heads filled with ideas which will land them on a psychiatrist’s couch later in life are not having any favors done for them.
But now, hang on to your hats because the Boy Scouts have been cowed into submission by the special snowflakes. We’re going to have girls in the Boy Scouts, which means they’ll probably be heading out to live in the cabins together at summer scouting camps. Speaking as someone who did that every summer for about six years as a kid, the immediate and obvious question comes to mind. What could possibly go wrong?

I honestly thought that the boy scouts had disbanded after they changed their policy a while back.
Time for the alternative scouts (there are a few in existence now). Combine and Pitch to existing BSA troops to move over. This nonsense must end.

Seriously, this crap is nothing less than child abuse! Team Trump must do something for these child victims.
I am constitutionally unable to pretend that a girl is a boy, or vice versa.
Mommy wasn’t getting the attention she so badly wanted at the cub scouts so she brought her daughter to the boy scouts. Just because you cut her hair short and call her a boy, doesn’t make her one. There is no such thing as transgender.

Scout camp could get pretty interesting since the “boy” would want to use the boy’s shower.
Thankful my son was in Scouts before any of this came about. He really enjoyed it, earning badges and doing projects and camping. They take a nice, healthy outlet for young boys that provides them something to do, provides a learning experience and commaradary outside the classroom and just takes it away from them! Such a shame!
It will be “The Something-Something Scouts.”

* locking in the children with gender dysphoria prevents the self-resolution that 80-90% experience naturally; indulging someone’s mental illness doesn’t cure it
* it violates the privacy of the boys, just as transgender men violate the privacy of women
* it destroys the whole concept of gender based scouting groups when gender is a construct
I earned Eagle Scout rank in 1960. Sexual matters were not relevant to being a Scout. If the same standards for moving up the ladder (time in rank before advancing, Morse Code proficiency for First Class, citizenship, swimming, lifesaving, camping, outdoorsmanship and woodcraft, etc.) were still in place, being an Eagle and becoming a man would still really mean something special, which apparently is no longer the case. Sad...
How come we virtually NEVER heard of “transgender” children until about three years age....I went to school for 16n years and Never heard of such a problem....my kids also went for 16 years and are unfamiliar with any such tumult......what happened????
"Sex". Not "gender". Living things don't have gender. Gender's an attribute of nouns and pronouns.
Just what is it with this squeamish terror of using the word "sex" to describe sex?
