Los Angeles City Atty. Mike Feuer said he spent several hours at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday night into Sunday morning, but was repeatedly denied access to federal detainees or an attorney who could discuss the situation with him.
"My goals in going were to get information as to whether customs officials were complying with the federal order ... and to try and secure the release of the detainees," he said on Sunday morning.
Feuer said he was concerned that federal officials were not complying with an emergency stay granted by a federal judge on Saturday night that was meant to block detainees from being deported under President Trump's executive order.
While he was at the airport, Feuer said he was approached by a woman who claimed her father, suffering from Parkinson's disease, was among the detainees.
"It is those kind of real stories that are at stake because of this outrageous action by the feds," he said. "It is time not only for officials in my position, but all Americans, should find this a breathtaking violation of rights.

You're welcome. More info on Portland airport mob; YouTube video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jf008xA1x1Q&feature=youtu.be Comment on thread: wysoft I'm sorry are you seriously saying that these protests are not professionally organized and promoted? That there are not groups within these protests who promote violence during these protests? Do you think these people just accidentally gathered with signs, chants, and violent anger? I know people personally on Facebook who are at this shit in Seattle and cross-posting meetup info and general instructions for protest from groups like Revcom.us and Seattle Democratic Socialists of America, and that is just scratching the surface of professionally organized protest groups who are part of this. 25 minutes ago (edited)3

I think I would argue that being detained at an Airport US Customs and Immigration facility isn’t really “being in the US.” IMO, they haven’t been cleared for entry which is tantamount to ‘not having entered the US.”

I think I would argue that being detained at an Airport US Customs and Immigration facility isnt really being in the US. IMO, they havent been cleared for entry which is tantamount to not having entered the US. They are under US jurisdiction at that time. Let's say there was an assault in the facility by an alien. Would he not be under US jurisdiction for the assault?
