Boycott Super Bowl LI
1-24-17 | Sir_Humphrey

Posted on 01/24/2017 4:44:36 AM PST by Sir_Humphrey

This is the NFL's biggest event of the year. This is the one that makes Billion's for the league. If you really want to send a message to them that we do not want to have your politics mixed with our football, this is the game to do it. Boycotting games in October and November just won't get the point across. This is THE time to do it

I have read other suggestion to just boycott the half time show. That will never get the point across. They will still bet the multi billions in revenue because you would have tuned in the game and be counted as a viewer. The more viewers, the higher the revenue. Also, the more viewers the less likely they will curtail people like Colin Kaepernick from disrespecting the country. You know Lady Gaga or any other lefty from pop culture is going to lecture us on the evils of Donald Trump. The NFL will not disinvite her nor will they try to stop her. A message has to be sent to the NFL that we are consuming your product for entertainment and relaxation purposes. We are not going to sit through a lecture and have a guilt trip imposed on us. If they won't stop it, then we just won't buy your product anymore.

I’ll ignore the stupor bowl this year as I have for a couple of decades at least.

There are my old jeeps, motorcycle, and K5 blazer projects.

Now that I know about it, I would but the spouse might object but that’s what mobile devices are for.

I do not financially support those organizations who seem to profess political views opposed to mine. Some of those organizations are:
1. Hollywood and the films they produce.
2. Mainstream media news and programs.
3. Sports

I also make a point of telling my friends that if they do not like the general political tone coming from Hollywood, the media, and sports then they should stop watching or reading any product made by them.

So I will have no problem doing something else on Super Bowl Sunday.

I do not watch the Super Bowl, nor NFL. Have not watched either in many years. I especially skip the Super Bowl—great time to go shopping or to the range as there are no crowds.

My team isn’t in it, so it’s #NotMySuperBowl.

Won’t have any problems boycotting. :-)

Has there ever been a boycott that actually worked? Just curious. There was much hooting and hollering here about Macy's having to close stores after they decided to be anti-Trump but almost all brick-and-mortar retailers are suffering due in large part to the cyber-shopping revolution. It's anecdotal to tie their misfortune directly to the boycott over them not supporting Trump. On the other side of the coin, the boycott of Chick-Fil-A by the Left was an epic failure as it actually caused an uptick in sales as conservatives flocked to the restaurants.

In some cases a boycott will have the reverse effect as in the Chick-Fil-A case but in most cases there is marginal if any effect at all.

I can't think of one business that was shut down or even severely affected on account of a boycott from either the Right or the Left. I also think a lot of people who are vowing not to watch the NFL game next Sunday will watch it just the same.

Cowboys fans don’t care about the Super Bowl this year.

I see it completely reversed. Go ahead and make a statement during the regular season, but just as the Democrats were wrong to skip Trump's Imnauguration for its lack of respect for the office and for our traditions, it would be morally criminal to punish the two teams that had nothing to do with what you're objecting to, and deprive them of the adulation they have earned through exceptional work, dedication, and skill.

Don't come across like the hags that marched to express their sexual frustration.

Folks will think you ain't gettin' none...

“So have fun watching re-runs of Flipper”

Great. Now that song’s in my head all day. How can I recall something not heard in 50 years, but can’t remember my cell phone number?

Make-Goods Eat Into November NFL Ad Sales Revenue, but Pricing Continues to Soar

Lots of spin, but note the info on the makegoods. Yes, boycotts can work.

Thank you for interjecting. The idea that “they” are monitoring your cable or satellite equipment without your signed consent for the purpose of obtaining viewer data is kooksville.

My wife also works in that industry for the past 20 years as well.

I can’t stop what I never started to do, but I hope enough people do it to make a statement.

I’ve planned a Super Bowl Party without the Super Bowl...

Good for you. Best time ever when you quit watching these degenerates run up and down the field during half time.

Oh and the other part of the game too.

So, are Ford and Microsoft the next? All conservatives should not use Ford and Microsoft products, right?

Correct. Drive Toyota and use Apple

Good post.
The NFL lost its mind. And that will cost it.

How will “they” know that I am or am not watching?

Do you have cable, Dish, DirectTV, FireStick, HULU or and subscription service?

If you do, they will know
