WikiLeaks slams Trump for refusing to release tax return and urges people to send them 'so we can'

WikiLeaks slammed President Donald Trump on Sunday (22 January) for refusing to release his tax returns and has called on people to submit them so they can post them online. The whistle-blowing outfit's request came via Twitter after Trump's senior adviser Kellyanne Conway told ABC's This Week With George Stephanopoulos that the president would not be releasing them contrary to his pledge to do so during the campaign season.

"The White House response is that he's not going to release his tax returns," Conway said. "We litigated this all through the election. People didn't care. They voted for him, and let me make this very clear — most Americans ... are very focused on what their tax returns will look like while President Trump is in office, not what his look like."

I bet that there’s nothing there, and he’s just letting them chase their tail.

I am a huge trump supporter, but he should release them. Basically no one cares, but he should follow through anyway... unless... its going to be a big build up then nothing. Then hold off a little. At this point he could support dog fighting and people would be over it . He should follow through either way.

“Tell me why the public has a right to your, or my , or Trump’s tax returns. Why?”

They don’t have a “right” to them.

However, the public has an interest in seeing records for the time that he is in public, elected, policy-making office. Not before that time and not after that time.

Did we have an interest in seeing that Clinton claimed a deduction for donating used underwear? How about Rangel’s shenanigans?

It takes time away from more important issues, and we are very short on time thanks to Obama screwing up everything.

I can’t wait until he does release his tax returns and they show no deception, only legitimate deductions, and generous donations. Kind of like Whoraldo opening Al Capone’s vault and finding it empty, on national TV.

Interesting. So what every president has done since time immemorial is in fact what only 2 or 3 presidents have done.

Yup, and Warren Buffet resolves his 1B$ tax issue, and Sharpton, his, and so on. If his returns leak out, Trump should peel the IRS back like an onion searching out the leaker using all means necessary. Utterly destroy that org! BTW, President Trump needs to issue an EO that all government databases/systems be immediately backed up and securely stored. Any failure to do so and lost data will immediately trigger an investigation into why the People’s data was mishandled and lost. Heads should roll with lost jobs, pensions, possible prison time, etc.

In fact, Trump should have a meet-and-greet with all government IT managers, and in no uncertain terms, make it clear that any lost data WILL be met with a serious investigation, etc.

The fact is, there is absolutely no legal requirement for any person to release their individual tax returns, and such documents are fully protected under the Fourth Amendment.

The little problem though is that, apparently he SAID he would. Is he a man of his word or not? Personally, I couldn't care less about his tax return. But if he said he would......

So what every president has done since time immemorial is in fact what only 2 or 3 presidents have done.

First, I am assuming you meant that statement as a question.

Second, I don't understand what you mean by 'only 2 or 3 presidents have done'.

The TEXT IN BOLD states that none of the Presidents are obligated, LEGALLY OR HISTORICALLY, to release their tax returns for the time BEFORE they were ELECTED, and none have done so.

Trump released a SUMMARY of his TAX RETURNS. Just like FORD did.

NONE of the Presidents have released their ENTIRE DETAILED TAX RETURNS from the period BEFORE they were ELECTED.

He released a SUMMARY of his TAX RETURNS.

He was not legally required to even do that.

Talk about a witch hunt! This is simply more pointless and disgusting behavior by Democrats and their accomplices in the dysfunctional media.

Exactly right. And President Trump should set an example for those in his administration and for all Americans by giving the media the middle finger salute at every opportunity over the next eight years of his two terms in office. We all need to despise these Marxist-inspired anti-American Leftists and attack them relentlessly every chance we get. Any compromise whatsoever simply makes it easier for them to achieve their goal which is the destruction of our country.

As long as the IRS has no problems with his tax returns, then I have no problem with his tax returns. And I haven’t heard that the IRS has any problems with them.

Maybe Assange’s paymasters in the Lubyanka building may have decided that Trump is not their friend after all?
