The UN is nothing more than a VIP lounge for dictators and terrorists. Even though the UN campus is an excellent example of mid 20th century architecture it’s time to TEAR THIS BITCH DOWN! What’s the worst that could happen? Real estate values on the Upper East side plummet? High priced hookers and their pimps are out of work? Knock it down then sell the site to Trump’s kids for $1. Let them negotiate with the Mohawks and the NFL so they can build a casino and stadium there so we can once and for all bring the Jets and Giants back to NYC where they belong!

An interesting thought on the 2% solution. I think that everyone can point to the worst performing school in a district (or in a neighborhood for a larger district), so measuring which school would be closed is rather simple and intuitive.
What we lack is the willpower to actually do so. I think what we lack is being challenged to do so.

A non-member state prosecuting members... Yep, that'll work out. Of course, once you start running the members through the prosecution mill and expose billions skimmed off into private accounts, you might find a whole lot of support to just flush the whole thing down the drain, so you'd get exactly what you're seeking.
Bulldozing the UN building would add incentive to leave.
If we drive the UN out of the US, it will go somewhere else where other country/countries will then have greater world influence. I’m with you, fix what needs fixing. Don’t give up the subtle power we have with it in the US. I’m sure that Russia would love to have it there, as would China.

American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2017
This bill repeals the United Nations Participation Act of 1945 and other specified related laws.
The bill requires: (1) the President to terminate U.S. membership in the United Nations (U.N.), including any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body; and (2) closure of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.
The bill prohibits: (1) the authorization of funds for the U.S. assessed or voluntary contribution to the U.N., (2) the authorization of funds for any U.S. contribution to any U.N. military or peacekeeping operation, (3) the expenditure of funds to support the participation of U.S. Armed Forces as part of any U.N. military or peacekeeping operation, (4) U.S. Armed Forces from serving under U.N. command, and (5) diplomatic immunity for U.N. officers or employees.

As much as I dislike the UN and its anti-American attitudes, this bill seems to me like kabuki theatre (designed as a poison pill to fail passage.)
It seems to me the bill should not withdraw us from the UN, but prohibit all funding except for that necessary for our ambassadors representation at the UN. Any additional funding should be required to get specific congressional approval, i.e. not a budgeted blank check. The US should not have to pay disproportionate UN dues, or pay for UN peacekeeping missions, and diplomatic immunities should be revoked.
In other words, no more free tickets. If other nations don’t like it, they can leave.
