WASHINGTON (AP) It took just a few hours for President Donald Trump to give the Oval Office a makeover, including some fresh gold trim.
There were changes from floor to ceiling as the White House brought reporters into the Oval Office on Friday evening for the first time since Trump became president at noon. He was signing an executive order and other paperwork in his first major acts as president.
Gone was the giant, circular quote rug that took up most of the room when Barack Obama was in charge, featuring quotes attributed to former presidents lining the perimeter. It was replaced by a golden rug with garland edges that appeared to be the same design as the sunburst rug George W. Bush had when he was president.
The curtains, crimson only hours before, are gold now, too. Some of the furniture appeared to be different, although Trump kept the Resolute Desk that presidents have used for decades.

He threw out the prayer rug? Bet he will never get the stains out so he probably had to throw out Kennedy’s desk as well.
The bust of Churchill Obama removed was restored by Trump to the Oval Office.
I kind of think it is probably George Bush’s rug or a similar one from storage along with the drapes. I think he just pulled stuff out of storage that was clean and worked.
And properly placed in its honored position.
That one mention speaks so loudly and makes me want to stand up and cheer.
I hope they sweep for bugs (the electronic stuff).
I’m afraid Churchill was overrated.
His bumbling cost the British their empire, and it is arguable the Jewish holocaust would not have occurred if the Brits had simply let Hitler go after the Ukraine, and to extinguish Bolshevism.’
There is no way he intended to attack the Brits or America, and would have also left France and the rest of Western Europe alone. How do we know this? EASY. He had NO NAVY. Totally interested in expanding as a land power far enough to unite Germans and provide sufficient foods (Ukraine) so they would not be starved out again as in WWI.
Pat Buchanan’s book on this is outstanding.
They never could get The First Wookie to stop dragging her butt on the rugs
Better bumble; bumble than surrender; surrender.
EEEOOOOOWWWWWW!!!! Now I’ll never get to sleep . . . I’ll have nightmares.

I’d grab everything Reagan had - how cool would that be to be surrounded by items and furniture he used.
Dude he conquered France BEFORE he invaded the USSR. Are you nuts?!!!

I hope they fumigate for bugs.
>Im afraid Churchill was overrated.
Correct. Churchill was a drunk who gave great speeches and managed to lose the empire and half of Europe. Great at inspiring people to amazing acts, awful at actually ruining the British Empire.
>His bumbling cost the British their empire, and it is arguable the Jewish holocaust would not have occurred if the Brits had simply let Hitler go after the Ukraine, and to extinguish Bolshevism.
This however is not correct. If you’ve read Mein Kamf it’s pretty clear that Hitler had a burning need to destroy France because of WW1 and kill the Jews for the stab in the back.
>There is no way he intended to attack the Brits or America
Originally he didn’t want to fight a way against the UK and USA. However, Hitler’s desire for conquest kept growing as the successes piled up. I very much doubt he would have stopped once he owned Russia.
No joke!
