Michigan Teacher Won’t Let Students Watch Trump’s Inauguration Speech

Fourth-grade students in Williamston, Michigan, won’t be watching Donald Trump’s Inauguration speech during class time on Friday because their teacher feels Trump’s statements during the campaign compromise the historic event.

According to radio host Steve Gruber, Brett Meteyer, who teaches the elementary school students, sent a letter to parents explaining that students would watch the 2005 and 2009 inaugurations instead, and will cut off viewing of Trump’s inauguration right before the President-elect speaks.

I’m with you. The teacher should not be injecting politics into this day.

This is about the office and the peaceful transfer of power, not about the man.

It is what makes the US stable, a government to be emulated.

“Pupil personnel should be doing schoolwork, not watching anything on tv. No wonder they can’t freepin read.”

Could not disagree more. This is a great opportunity for kids to start understanding how our government works and develop an interest in politics. Might show them that the media just might be creating hype and drama for ratings and other agendas.

I remember see the first moon landing at school. Started a love a science that ended in a science degree. I would rather my kids watch something like this than reading Johnny has two Dads or some other liberal social engineering crap.

Okay Kids, lesson for Friday will be “How a rabid left wing Social Justice Warrior Indoctrinates 4th Graders.” Next week will be covering the topics of safe fisting and riding bareback.

He most likely retreats in the evening to his “Husband” for comfort and support

2005 was not an Obama inaugeration, it was Bush’s.

That said, the teacher is an idiot.

It really is being done as a stick in the eye to those parents who voted for Trump

The kids MUST watch this if possible. These types of things were part of normal curriculum when I was in school. it’s Civics, and they’re living it.

If the commie teachers have a problem, then it’s the parents’ duty to keep them home to experience it.

“”2005 was not an Obama inaugeration, it was Bush’s.””

I knew it didn’t look right but with a headache that’s lasted all day, I couldn’t see what was wrong. Good catch! I think 2004 registered with us about obozo because he gave the keynote speech that year at the dim convention.

I voted for Trump myself. I would prefer any teacher who works with my children to stay on task. Re-runs are just as good as the original, especially for fourth graders.

People seem to be getting worked up over trivial things. Whatever liberals do are to their own discredit; and, if you care, they win.

He looks faggy.

The father of each kid should give him a wedgie, pants him, and shove him in a locker.

Easy fix. No school on Friday.

It is a celebration day. Parents who can stay home with kids can watch the celebrations on a positive station like FBN and celebrate. Great time to talk about the Constitution and our country’s history and light off some fireworks.

Invite other kids and parents over.

This is a great day!

It never ceases to amaze me how people treat absences from public school as some kind of major crime.

I was in Kindergarten, and I remember the teacher explaining who the new President was, why it was important, what an oath was, and how to spell the word. So yes, it was memorable.

This is a great opportunity for kids to start understanding how our government works and develop an interest in politics.

That is the role of their parents, not of compulsory school attendance. For one thing, as you may have noticed, it is impossible for a mass school facility to accommodate the varied expectations of families with different political views. They should not be expected to try.

Calling Betsy. Teachers need to be accountable to their students instead of their own ideology. Fix it.

Kathy Kruger, third grade, behind the bushes, on the lips. I know what you are saying; and, that was better than the stupid speech.

Try teaching make-up lessons for large numbers of random skippers. Some topics are incremental in nature.
