Doug McIntyre: Donald J. Trump: Not my candidate but my president (Barf alert)
Los Angeles Daily News ^ | January 14, 2017 | Doug McIntyre

Posted on 01/14/2017 3:47:03 PM PST by EveningStar

This week our country gets a new president, our 45th, Donald J. Trump.

Many people spark to Mr. Trump's blunt "If you hit me I hit back twice as hard" style. They find him refreshing.

I don't find Donald Trump refreshing.

I think he's the most ill-prepared and ill-suited person ever elevated to the office. With that said, I hope he turns out to be as "amazing", "fantastic", "terrific", "awesome", and "really, really, really good" as he claims he will be.

I don't root for presidents to fail.

I didn't root for George W. Bush to fail or Barack Obama. I'm not going to root for Donald J. Trump to fail. If I cut off my nose my glasses fall on the floor. They're no good to me down there. He was not my candidate, but like it or not, he is my president.

And that worries me greatly.

I listen to Doug every morning on the way in to work. I used to listen to at work, but when he went Never-Trump, I stopped listening at work. Doug is funny & very good on most issues - especially local & state issues. But I can’t stand his continual smart-assed anti-Trump comments and harping on his perceived mistakes that Trump makes. Also, KABC has seemed to switch to CNN as their news source (not that ABC would be much better).

At least Doug got rid of Terri-Rea Elmer - she was terrible & stupid. She used to pick every negative Trump news clip to play at the top & bottom of the hour. Rob Marinko is much better.

Yes!!! You are so right! Serving in Congress was something a good citizen did out of patriotism as a short term sacrifice.

The reason the capitol is built in a swamp was to make it uncomfortable in the summer. The whole job was meant to be unappealing but necessary. Our Founding Fathers did not want a nation run by career politicians slopping at the public trough for life.

They would be mortified at the likes of a Joe Biden— never held a real job, sat in the Senate for 128 years—exactly what they wanted to avoid.

The only thing Doug usually gets right is the magnitude of the illegal alien problem.

Other than that he’s a typical Hollywood imbecile with a microphone.

Doug McIntyre was in fact an Obama supporter in 2008. I'm not sure about 2012.

Yes, Doug did vote for Obama in 2008, but not in 2012. I think he voted for some “off-brand” candidate like the Libertarian candidate or something. He isn’t much of an Obama supporter at this point & was also Never-Hillary.

After 9/11 and Bush’s War On Terror, I never would have believed in a million years that our next POTUS would have “Hussein” as his middle name.

On the other hand, after the Democrats “you didn’t build that” slogan during the 2012 election, I’m pleased as punch to have an honest to goodness “builder” as our next POTUS, who thinks we’re letting far too many Hussein types into the country!

*LOVE*

and if the Progs were even the LEAST little bit HONEST, they’d admit that THEY don’t like her, either!

OMG! We SO dodged a bullet! Let’s never, EVER forget that! And if this beotch comes back to haunt us in 2020, we need to take her down AGAIN!

(Stealing, BTW!) :)

“Doug McIntyre was in fact an Obama supporter in 2008. I’m not sure about 2012.”

As was that worthless POS the GOPe ran for Governor last time, Neel Kashkari.

The only difference is that we know that Kashkari voted for Obama twice because he told us so.

Pompous ASS

His advice to Trump supporters:

Read as much as possible. Read magazines, newspapers and websites, especially those you don’t agree with. Don’t justify the unjustifiable with a laundry list of Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama transgressions. If we don’t accept “He did it first!” from our kids when they act up, we certainly shouldn’t accept it from our President. And most importantly, don’t assume everyone who opposes Mr. Trump and his party is doing so out of evil intent. There are other points-of-view in the world.

I am every perplexed by people who most likely voted for Obama as qualified, claiming that Trump is ill-prepared or unqualified for the job? How can they hold those two ideas at the same time?

Exactly what I said when obammy was elected in 2008. But, he turned out to be just what I expected.

Many people spark to Mr. Trump's blunt "If you hit me I hit back twice as hard" style. They find him refreshing. I don't find Donald Trump refreshing.

I think he's the most ill-prepared and ill-suited person ever elevated to the office.

These people that suddenly turn coherent after more than eight years of being incoherent, aren't fooling me.

This guy talks about Trump's bluntness. It was Obama during his first run for office that suggested bringing guns into play. LINK For other inflammatory comments try here. LINK Imagine if Trump did these things.

Obama openly advocated violence. Where was the outrage?

These comments concerning Trump are idiotic. Did Trump tell Whites to get in Black's faces? The double-standards are shocking.

As for Trump not being qualified, how dare he address that.

Trump has been a top level CEO for decades. He has managed multi-layered international management teams for decades. He increased his family fortune to billions of dollars after having been upside down in the late 1980s.

Trump had over 25,000 employees.

Obama had no real world job creation experience. He had never developed his own business. He hadn't accomplished anything in the private sector or the government sector. He was handed the reigns of the U.S. government on spec.

Trump was vetted for 19 months non stop. Obama has not been asked a follow-up question in his political career.

He still hasn't come up with a valid proof of birth on U.S. soil.

Trump isn't qualified? That is a preposterous statement.

After eight years in office, Obama knows less about factual world dynamics than Baron.

This “ill prepared” crap is getting old.

Obama was a doper, law student, commnistic organizer, state senate back-bencher, and do-nuffin’ US Senator who gave good speeches while black.

That’s the extent of his “preparation”. As far as we know he lied about half of the above because “transparency”.

Trump has a business degree from one of the top business schools and a lifetime of accomplishment that is easily measured in dollars and cents (just bring a lot of commas to put before the decimal point).

Prepared? Compared to Obama, Trump is vastly overqualified with one half of his brain tied behind Rush’s back!

This whole “my President” thing is stupid. No one here likes Obama, he was (and for 6 days and change still is) THE President whether we liked it or not.

Trump is gonna be THE President, lib acceptance is not required. The sun is gonna rise tomorrow morning too, even for anyone who says “it’s not my star”.

To: I cannot think of a name
To me it’s real simple:
.
If I made up a list with a thousand names of who I’d like to be President, Donald Trump’s name wouldn’t be on it.
.
If I made up a list with a ten million names of who I’d like to be President, Hillary Clintooon’s name wouldn’t be on it
.
. Hence, I voted for Trump; I have high hopes for Trump, but whatever the heck he does, we really had no alternative so I ain’t going to worry about it!

Brilliant. You just expressed the sentiments of millions of voters.

He can’t help it, girly men are naturally threatened by alpha males. I wonder how many of the men who created this nation spent their whole lives running for office so they could be prepared to enrich themselves by selling their countrymen out to the highest bidder?
