President-elect Trump Attacks Civil Rights Icon Who Said His Presidency Not 'Legitimate'

President-elect Donald Trump unleashed a Twitter attack on Congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis, after the lawmaker said he wouldn't attend Trump's inauguration because he doesn't see him as a "legitimate president."

Lewis in an interview with NBC on Friday cited Russia's meddling in the election for his view on the legitimacy of the presidential election results, and his comments stoked controversy with Republicans and debate inside the Democratic Party.

"I don't see this president-elect as a legitimate president," Lewis said.

As an Australian, not bound by political correctness, all I can offer is, a whole bunch of them seem to have made a huge mistake not taking up the offer of their own piece of dirt by not going to Liberia when they had the chance. Obviously being able to vote and go to work like the rest of us, isn't making them happy.

In so many ways, your precious African-Americans remind me of the poor, poor, 'palestinians' who won't behave like normal human beings unless you hand over your country. That's the legacy of Malcolm X, who planned to take the US to the United Nations for reparations. In the form of any one of the Southern States.

What's this? A street party in Liberia?

When he takes the job, you'll have a legitimate criticism ... maybe.

The President, whomever he may be, isn't Constitutionally or culturally restricted to confining his replies to the channels prescribed by the clucking-clucking scolds in the Dinosaur Media.

Whatever he may once have been, for the last 30 years Lewis has been nothing but a vacuous poseur. He thinks he's beyond criticism; actually, he's beneath it.

“Far as I’m concerned, Trump can smack whomever he wants, because there are a whole lot of people in this country who need a good smacking.”

And about time. No one should be a protected class when they act crass or rude.

A *Civil Rights Icon*, ergo untouchable.

Lewis can do anything and you can’t criticize him. You know why? Because he is a CIVIL RIGHTS ICON, that’s why.

Thank God, literally, for Donald Trump, pushing back on this kind of fraud.

I think they’ve got civil rights. It’s the civil responsibilities that they seem to be missing.

“Even if Trump is right he should lighten up on the tit for tats. He should take is own advice and focus on his job.”

I think tweeting this is a trivial effort. If you think it somehow taxes his abilities, or anyone else’s for that mater, to focus on the job you don’t know Trump.

Stopping democrat bullsh*t is part of Trump’s job... If he doesn’t do it the damn press sure won’t.

Remember, democrats are protected by the MSM, Hollywood, all the newspapers but one and PBS and NPR. We’re (conservatives) protected by a few radio hosts and 3 or 4 people on FOX. AND TRUMP. “AND TRUMP” is the important one.

Is that the same “civil rights icon” who lied about being spit on by TEA partiers and held Sessions’ hand at a Selma rally? Just checking....

Those are good points that make me reconsider my comment.
Usually the VP is the attack dog.
Maybe this will be Trumps style throughout his presidency.
I am sick of PC BS and am as frustrated as most at Conservative passivness. This is why I supported Trump early on and gave $$$

Time will tell how effective his style is
I do like his appointments and in the end it will be what actually gets done and how .... Not just words.

The other issue like it or not is the division in our country. Being nice has not worked

Again it will be the deeds done and not promises and placations that will be effective.

Yes, he should let pond scum who are barely above Jesse Jackson level like John Lewis question his legitimacy without fighting back. John Lewis is an untouchable hero like like that f-tard father of the dead solider who lied for Hillary at the DNC.

Standing there and getting punched worked wonders for GW Bush, that’s why he left office with 65% approval and passed the torch off like Reagan passed it to his father....oh wait, that’s right the bend over and take it Republicans got creamed in 2006 and 2008, oops.
