Trump goes after civil-rights icon on Twitter
NY Post ^ | 14 Jan 2017 | Kathianne Boniello

President-elect Trump slammed US Rep. John Lewis on Twitter Saturday, for “falsely complaining” about the election, and said he should spend more time fixing problems in his district.

Lewis, a Georgia democrat and legendary civil rights activist, intends to skip Trump’s Friday inauguration and feels the Tweeter-in-Chief isn’t a “legitimate president,” he told NBC News’ “Meet the Press.”

Trump shot back at Lewis with a pair of tweets, the first at 7:50 a.m., the second at 8:07 a.m.

“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!” he wrote.

Lewis is not an icon; he is a relic.

Not only do we have a President that attacks back, we the Trump Supporters are starting to attack back!!!

John Lewis should have taken the ‘one’ and went to his district and see what they could have done to help the people there...but no, Lewis was to busy riding on his ‘race card’ and the ‘one’ was to busy playing golf...

And the ‘last one’ that wears a dress was to busy flying off hither and yon spending millions of tax payers money having fun on vacations because the ‘last one’ that wears a dress thought it was owed...

So when you Mr. Lewis can clean up your own ‘dumping ground’ where you keep your people on ‘your plantation’ don’t try to talk about someone who is going to ‘clean it up for you’ because your to busy with your ‘race card’ to see your nose in front of your face!!!

Exactly. Lewis has issues, like most so-called civil rights icons like Dr. King or Jesse Jackson. Nothing but a bunch of serial adulterers and race pimps.

Any congressman who keeps his constituents in poverty and dependent on government is ultimately against freedom and is therefore anti-civil rights.

I was asked what I thought of Lewis’s comment at work last night. I said he was a poverty pimp. Who gives a damn what he thinks? There were a lot of dropped jaws in the room.

I then told the story about when Pelosi obtained the Speakership and they all made a totally unnecessary walk outside and trolled the Tea Party protesters. Lewis by her side. Lewis then charged the Tea Party protesters with calling him a n1gger as they walked by. Anyone remember that? Problem was, it was filmed at various angles by various sources and nothing of the kind happened. He lied, falsly charging the Tea Party protesters as a bunch of racists.

And that there is the asteemed civil rights icon Congressman Lewis. Race baiting, poverty pimping, slimebag racist himself. And slanderer, caught on film.

Yeah, the liberals are frantic because they see the race card slipping away from them.
In the past, in any argument they were losing or following some outrageous allegation made where the person being libeled tried to defend themselves, all the left and their press had to do was scream “Raciss!”
Then we saw the excoriation of the miscreant, followed by his disgusting, humble mea culpas.

Thanks to Trump, no longer: screw you Lewis. And your party.

Even Tiny Tim had more than one song in his setlist.

John Lewis was a hanger-on who parlayed literal seconds of his early life into a career.

And Selma resembles a scene from the Fallout games, or Mad Max these days, but without the cool cars. Aside from getting hit on the head and crossing a bridge, what did John Lewis ever do for Selma?

Excellent point.

A Twitter user said a similar thing: if John Lewis is such a hero, why is he such a failure?

Pardon me, but didn’t the “civil rights icon” start this fight? I believe President Trump is only finishing it.

Ben Sasse, Egg McMuffin, and all the other usual freaks are right now bashing Trump on twitter, saying John Lewis is a “personal hero” and whatnot.

Yes, the same “revered” civil rights “leader” who falsely claimed he was spat upon by the Obamacare protestors. I was there and Lewis and his posse were trying to provoke a confrontation. When that didn’t work, they had to make something up. He is vermin and Trump is right to attack him. Oh, and it appears we were right about Obamacare doesn’t it you POS?
