Psychiatrists themselves have a poor record of knowing who will become violent. But psychiatrists know that they cant predict the future. So they sign the release. Their logic escapes me.
Here is an idea; make the doctor who approves release responsible if the guy goes off track. Same penalty.

They aren’t police and can’t be police. Nor would anyone want to go to a psychologist or psychiatrist if they were under such a gun. We would jump from the frying pan into the fire.
