Warren: No confirmation hearings until ethics concerns addressed
The Hill ^ | January 7, 2017 | Nikita Vladimirov

Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Saturday called for the Senate to not hold confirmation hearings for President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet picks until after the completion of an ethics screening.

"Cabinet officials must put our country's interests before their own. No [confirmation] hearings should be held until we’re certain that’s the case," the Massachusetts Democrat tweeted.

[Snip]

"This is ridiculous," Warren tweeted, "[Trump's nominees] can’t drag their feet on ethics paperwork while their Senate friends try to run out the clock."

No bigger ethics violation than Hillary Clinton, yet Chief Horsefeathers sat silently by as Clinton and the corrupt media complex tried to get her to the highest publicly elected office of the land...

Interesting. This statement has ethics and Warren in the same sentence. If this two bit phony had any ethics she wouldn’t be where she is. A total career built on a lying background and she wants to check someones ethics. I don’t think she understands the definition of the word.

I think the people of Mass. and SC keep Warren and Graham in Washington, DC to keep them out of their states.

"Cabinet officials must put our country's interests before their own."

Does that mean no more Secretary of State running their own international slush funds? How about US Senators pretending to be of minority ethnicity for the purpose of advancing their own interests. Is that to be allowed dear Fauxahontas?

I thought confirmation hearings were suppose to BE “ethics investigations”

That is a big part of the problem with governance in the U.S. We substitute ethics witch-hunts (of the right) for determinations of fitness for office.

As a consequence a large fraction of the most qualified will not agree to accept a senate confirmed appointment. You are putting yourself on the line for ruin.

And if you look at the ethics practiced on both sides Rats and GOPeers, it is the most hypocritical exercise in the moral history of the universe.

Don’t forget that $5.4 million home was purchased with a ZERO percent interest from Harvard.

I am sure that there are more, but those two alone will get one a seat of honor at the Democrat Party table every time.

You're right sport...

Dear squaw elizabeth: Please lighten-up, you tomahonky. You need more smokes or need to chug back some more firewater. You seem so testy now that you are the low man on the totem pole. Maybe you’d like more wampum? Go back to your teepee and cook-up some buffalo sammiches for us. Oh, yeah. Please have the ethics committee investigate you for lieing about being an American Indian, you dishonest putz.
