Women have been rapidly climbing the employment and wage ladders in recent decades. But only a small fraction have made it to the top rungs and their progress may be slowing.
New research shows that after making big strides in the 1980s and 90s, the number of women breaking into the top 1 percent of earners has stalled. Women account for only 16 percent of the 1 percent, a number that has remained essentially flat over the past decade, according to a paper by three economists. And they account for only 11 percent of the top 0.1 percent of earners.
The threshold for making the top 1 percent of earners in 2014 was $390,000, while it was $1.32 million for the top 0.1 percent...

I am confident that from the girls who participate in First we will achieve gender parity in top income generation over the next generation, Ms. Rothblatt said. The girl who can dominate a field of robots is a woman who can dominate a field of men.

As if super rich just kinda happens to a person, and if it doesn’t then it’s someone else’s fault.
Anyone whining about this should read _Atlas_Shrugged_ and explain how many people are willing to work as insanely hard and focused and sacrificial as the female hyper-productive protagonist. (Unwillingness to read the book in the first place is a major clue.)
Welcome to the first trading morning of 2017 and everyone's beginning the new year w/ gusto!
Futures traders say metals are up +0.61% and stock indexes are up +0.97% so what could possibly happen? I mean, gold and silver are back trading around $1,150 and $16 --for now, and while stock indexes have been falling in rising volume for the past week we all know it was nothing but end of the year 'window dressing' (re How Fund Managers Year-End Window Dressing Benefits the Market).
No econ reports to write home about, just Construction Spending and ISM Index in a couple hours.
I'll need say, another hour to get some of these posted on the FR, if anyone wants they can tell me which should go up first:

Liberals seem concerned if a woman becomes President, CEO, or billionaires. If I were a woman, my concern would be that there are toilets at stadiums, and they are not shared with men in drag.
AMEN!! The Dems are PUSHING for women to register when they turn 18....I’m all for it, but NO FRONT LINES!!
The Slimez is hooding them dow .
There are some people who sleep their way into wealth like the Heinz-Kerrys.
Why aren’t there any billionaires from my high school graduating class?
BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO DAM BUSY GETTING ME A GAW DAM SAMMICH, IS WHY!
But the NYet Times would say that she should be PAID for being the housewife of a billionaire. He’s got all of that money, it’s only FAIR!
I think this inequality should be remedied by the govt.
Just create a “billionaire tax” where their wealth is reduced to a couple hundred thousand. Think of all the votes they could buy with that money.
Won't become a billionaire in those jobs. Can't even get professional pay in many of those roles today with workers from India and Vietnam competing for the same positions.
yes!!! I was gonna say “shoes” is why women are not billionaires.
Ironclad prenups.
This isn’t a subject that keeps me up at night. Another first world problem for idiot leftists to toss and turn over.
Now now, I don’t think John Kerry owns high heels in every color.
Prenups.
