SEATTLE (AP/WSVN) A Seattle man is accused of posing as a porn recruiter and tricking women into having sex with him. Now he can add a consumer protection complaint to the criminal rape charges he is facing.
Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson said Wednesday that he sued Michael-Jon Matthew Hickey under the state Consumer Protection Act and the Commercial Electronic Mail Act, seeking restitution and thousands of dollars in penalties.
Hickeys been held on $200,000 bail at the King County Jail on three counts of second-degree rape since his arrest in Las Vegas in October.
Authorities say he created deceptive email accounts and websites; posed as a photographer for a female-owned adult industry talent agency; and persuaded women to pose nude and have sex with him as part of a phony audition.
Wait, “The Casting Couch” isn’t real?
Tricked? Really?
A man lied to women for sex?
And this is news?
I guess my time as the space shuttle door gunner is over...
Last paragraph:
"Hickeys criminal defense attorney, James Bible, did not immediately return an email seeking comment."
hardly a “first”
Porn is basically sex for money. So what’s the crime here that isn’t worse than porn?
Wherever are these women going to get their virtue back?
Okay the fraud I get but what’s the 2nd degree rape? Is this the new PC way of defining statutory rape in the age of homosexual normalization?
It’s a crime to lie to hookers and get them to work for free. Now we know.
Tricked? Really?
He shoulda just hypnotized her.
Second degree rape seems like a prosecutorial over reach for what the story claims. He certainly committed fraud and a slew of crimes using the internet to do it.
Did he pay them? What's the problem?
It's not like these women were showing up to audition for Disney on Ice or to host Sprout TV. They were showing up to audition for porn shoots!
Sorry, but "egregious scam"? Get real. Ladies, chalk this up as a painful lesson learned. Sometimes you're going to meet unscrupulous, deceptive people in the porn industry.
>>Wait, The Casting Couch isnt real?
I’m SHOCKED! Shocked, I say.
It was probably real until Trump got elected.
LOL! My first thought. This guy has been running this scam for a decade. Sounds about right. And I thought it was all part of the act.
Tricked? LOL! Right.
The women just wanted to “get their nails done.”
Should have read the ad more carefully.
Ok, I gotta start writing this down. This is getting too complicated to remember.
- Not paying her to have sex with you — OK
- Paying her to have sex with you — ILLEGAL
- Paying her to have sex with somebody else while you make a movie of it — OK
- Not paying her to have sex with you, but telling her that at some point you will pay her to have sex with somebody else while you make a movie of it — ILLEGAL
Well, there goes that plan! /s
