To be fair there are good charter school operators and bad ones. Some pruning and triage needs to be done there.
But the public schools surely need the competition. I was at a council meeting at my church which turned into a union hall scrum at the mere mention of Gates’ name. (unbeknownst to me five members of my church’s council were unionized public school teachers).
It ought to be the taxpayers who control the school boards who in turn educate the children.
Now it’s the state, and the feds.

Outlawing teacher unions should be the first step. Next step is firing all of them!
Businesses and nonprofits have learned how to play the system. Just like landlords who’d rather take Sec. 8 tenants and get a check from Uncle Sugar on a reliable, predictable basis.

If schools were teaching students about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers as they should be, students would be able to point out that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the corrupt feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate schooling purposes.
In fact, not only did President Thomas Jefferson indicate that the states would need to amend the Constitution to grant the feds the specific power to make policy for public schools, something that the states have never done, but using wide language, the Supreme Court has clarified the fed’s limited powers.
“The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphases added].” —Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806.
“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Patriots need to work with Trump to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that the corrupt feds cannot justify under Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.
Once unconstitutional federal taxes are stopped then the states will probably find a tsunami of new revenues that they won't know what to do with, improving public education for starters.
Patriots need to support Trump in draining the federal swamp of corruption.
