Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) tweeted on Saturday that he would oppose funding for the United Nations until the UN Security Council reversed an anti-Israel resolution that it approved on Friday, with the acquiescence of the Obama administration.
The resolution not only describes the Israeli presence across the 1949 armistice line as illegal including in the Old City of Jerusalem but also encourages countries to target Israeli settlements for boycotts.
The Obama administration had vetoed a similar resolution five years ago, taking the traditional U.S. position that the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians is best resolved between the two parties, and not by the UN. However, President Barack Obama and outgoing UN Ambassador Samantha Power a genocide expert known for anti-Israel views, and notably silent on Syria for most of the past eight years could not resist the opportunity to land a parting blow against Israel, and abstained from the resolution rather than vetoing it.
In a statement on Friday, reacting to the UN Security Council vote, Cruz said:
For eight long years, the Obama administration has worked systematically to undermine the nation of Israel. They actively worked to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu, and illegally used U.S. taxpayer funds to do so. Never has there been a more anti-Israel Administration, and todays United Nations vote is the culmination of their systemic agenda to weaken Israel and strengthen its enemies.

Ted-haters can chew on this.
I admit to being extremely angry at Ted for what he tried to do to Trump during the primary but I am big believer in wiping the slate clean when we select and agree on a nominee.
Ted is 100% correct — for now, no $ for UN. Later US out of UN and UN out of US.
Scruze has some usefulness after all. Maybe he can go read Dr. Seuss to the UN Security Council. I’d do more than cut off the American Taxpayers money to these miscreants.
Howsabout no money for the UN.....................
.........................PERMANANTLY.
“Ted-haters can chew on this.”
So tell us all just what his pontificating does to change the situation? Does he have a bill authorizing cutting off the funds on the floor? Talk is cheap. When I see Cruz actually doing something that’s really constructive, I will consider changing my opinion of him, but not before.
I sincerely doubt he could have beaten Hillary Clinton for President
But Ted is not the enemy , however he did act Childish at the GOP Convention
You seem to act that Trump is not on that page where he was the first to condemn and even tried to stop it while he wasn't President
We can wipe the slate clean when he remembers what natural born citizen means and that he isn’t one.
Bringing Lyn’ Ted into any discussion is quick way to kill it. Let’s leave him out, okay?
>>I don’t think People hated Ted but preferred Donald J. Trump over him for President<<
Not here in FR. The Ted-haters were (and it looks like still are) more virulent than the Romney-haters (and that is pretty damn virulent).
The beauty of this resolution is that the Trump Administration will be able to determine his foreign policy based on how nations vote. He has already strongly hinted at this. It’s a time of choosing, either for us and Israel or against us and Israel.
>>Bringing Lyn Ted into any discussion is quick way to kill it. Lets leave him out, okay?<<
Well, the OP is about him so maybe you should just not enter threads about hum if you feel that way.
It is like people jumping onto sports/movie/music threads to profess how much they hate said sport/movie/music.
We have a President-elect. It's his call.
Yes for Cruz! And absolutely stop the $$ and arms to all the Moslem terrorists ( PLO- “pa”, Isis, hezbellah, hamas, Iran nukes and icbm’s
I don’t hate Ted. In this instance I agree with him. But I am still elated that Trump beat him out.
Ted allowed himself to be set up at the convention. His speech was pre-approved. Even as Gingrich pointed out. It has always been a part of Ted’s speech style to imply and let the mind of others fill in the blanks of the direction he is pointing. The convention showed us how that style, usually quite effective, can be neutralized and even reversed, especially when your speech has been submitted and reviewed before hand.
No. No refurbishment. Just 3 dozen of these pushing that sh!t off into the water.
