President-elect Donald Trump met on Wednesday with the chief executives of Boeing Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp., the nation’s two largest defense contractors, two weeks after he started publicly berating the cost of some of their military projects.

The meetings with Boeing’s Dennis Muilenburg and Lockheed’s Marillyn Hewson were held at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., where Mr. Trump is staying for the Christmas holiday.

Mr. Muilenburg previously spoke to Mr. Trump via telephone on Dec. 6, shortly after the president-elect threatened to cancel future contracts for the planes Boeing is building that will serve as the future Air Force One, citing a cost of $4 billion.

“We’re going to get it done for less than that, and we’re committed to working together to make sure that happens,” Mr. Muilenburg told reporters after the meeting.

Ms. Hewson later met with Mr. Trump, 10 days after the president-elect wrote on Twitter that the cost of stealthy F-35 jets built by Lockheed were “out of control” and that “billions of dollars can and will be saved on military [and other] purchases.”

President elect Donald Trump spent his Thanksgiving vacation negotiating jobs for Carrier Corp. He is now spending his Christmas holiday, negotiating the cost of Air Force One and the F-35 program down to more realistic numbers - on behalf of YOU, the taxpayer.

Meanwhile, President Obama, is also working with your hard earned tax dollars.

Enjoying his annual vacation, golfing in Hawaii.

It isn’t just about cost. Both companies are offshoring aircraft production.

It is sad that the biggest balls on that course are the white ones he’s worm-burning with his gold clubs.

Donald Trump met with Jeff Bezos.

Bezos response was to turn the Washington Post bilge output up to 11.

I just don’t think things are going to work out well for Jeff or the Washington Post.

Yep. And a stupid jerk too. The longest 8 years of my life (yes, I take it personally). Thank God for Trump!

So true, yet he got re-elected. If we have anyone to blame we ought to look in the mirror. Mitt Romney? Please. Mormons don't even believe that Jesus was God. How could I vote for a quasi-pagan as POTUS?

DARN shame that John McCain didn't win in 2008!

Let The Kenyan stay there, outstanding in his field. He can do less harm to us from that vantage point.
The Donald is playing the part of the real President. Getting all of his ducks in order.
I’m fine with that.

Anyone remember what Obama was doing during this period after he won (used loosely) his first election ?

Of all the presidents in the past, according to Fox News, President elect Trump is the only one who has extended himself in making appointments and actually meeting with corporate leaders prior to being inaugurated. This, they rationalize, is attributable to the fact that he is an "outsider" who knows how to get things done. He is not waiting for the inauguration to begin moving and shaking up the way things have been done by politicians. The result has been a positive shift in his approval ratings from Americans who recognize that his is doing what he promised to do. We're in for an amazing time in America!

At 76, that worthless half-breed took more than 10% of my entire life.

F35 was overbudget before it left the design phase. And Pentagon knew it.

Both companies are offshoring aircraft production.

I think in the case of F-35 it's required. The concept was for all these foreign government to get them too, and contribute to the development by making parts. Probably if it wasn't a US DOD requirement it wouldn't even be possible to offshore much of this production because of export controls laws.
