President-elect Donald Trump met on Wednesday with the chief executives of Boeing Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp., the nations two largest defense contractors, two weeks after he started publicly berating the cost of some of their military projects.
The meetings with Boeings Dennis Muilenburg and Lockheeds Marillyn Hewson were held at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., where Mr. Trump is staying for the Christmas holiday.
Mr. Muilenburg previously spoke to Mr. Trump via telephone on Dec. 6, shortly after the president-elect threatened to cancel future contracts for the planes Boeing is building that will serve as the future Air Force One, citing a cost of $4 billion.
Were going to get it done for less than that, and were committed to working together to make sure that happens, Mr. Muilenburg told reporters after the meeting.
Ms. Hewson later met with Mr. Trump, 10 days after the president-elect wrote on Twitter that the cost of stealthy F-35 jets built by Lockheed were out of control and that billions of dollars can and will be saved on military [and other] purchases.

Great tagline potential.
same here. last summer.
I didn’t hear anything from the LM CEO
statement that they will cutting costs.
A program so big any so expensive,
Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing is peanuts.
That Boeing guy doesn’t look that old, I’m sure Trump ate his lunch.
Regarding the cost of a new Air Force 1: One has to purchase two 747 air planes and then all of the additional items for presidential communications, safety, and whatever are added on. The expense is most likely in the communications and safety features. How much will those two categories add to the basic airframe cost?
I remember hearing the comment on a TV documentary about 9-11, that with all of the communications equipment aboard Air Force one in 2001, there was no equipment on board that allowed the President to either talk to some military commands and/or receive information from regular radio and TV broadcasts. And all of the communications has to be encrypted, that is another cost.
Good move. I wish more of us on FR would cross off/quit Amazon.com and it would hurt Bezos. Ebay is cheaper and faster. I even got my wife’s Max Factor on Ebay cheaper plus it was here in two days. Bezos is a rat, scumbag socialist punk who uses the Washington Post as a tax write off.
Go Trump!
Back in my competitive cycling days, I bought my carbon racer and upgrade parts off EBay.
I’m currently bidding on a c24 mixing console for my home recording studio.
EBay has never let me down.
On the bright side, after Jan 20, that percentage will constantly decrease for the rest of your life.
