I received a fund-raising email from WGBH which asked the question "What would the past year have been like without public TV and radio?"
Aside from small pieces of Masterpiece Theater, I don't think my life would have changed one iota.

I don’t listen to it, so no change here.

I am sure that SOMEone will pick up the rights to CarTalk reruns. Carl Castle might have to sell his telephone answering machine recordings.

My life would not change one bit, although in theory it would increase the chances of my tax burden being lessened.

If there is programming people want to watch then someone will sponsor it or it will end up on a pay to watch medium like the internet or cable
That’s called “market capitalism”
Works really well

That would be a valid question 20 years ago. Not in 2016 when your viewing choices is massive.

Good question. Let’s find out. And let the people know where the money went elsewhere. Then we can make an informed decision.

Less propaganda. Lots of morons think public radio is nothing but facts.

NPR and PBS need to be done away with. Add Air America to that list, as well.
They have become nothing but taxpayer-funded Democrat Propaganda Platforms.
The shows that can survive in the public marketplace will survive.
Those that cannot....

Silly liberals. If these programs are so worthwhile, they would prove their worth in the free market and be picked up by some network.
Why we don't need public radio and never did.
To: Makana
I see no reason for public funding of radio or T.V.
I imagine some BBC and other content would be picked up by the multitude of other channels that now exist. Instead of hearing from their sponsors (Viking Cruises, etc.), we would get advertisements - same thing.

The things that are worthwhile will funded privately. That’s the way capitalism works. A free nation has no reason to have government funded media.
To: Makana
Socialist/elitist/GLBT/BLM/NWO propaganda should be self funded.

What if all of Massoftwoshitts disappeared? Would anyone care? I wouldn’t! Boston is the Mothership of Liberalism/Marxism. It make NYC look almost sane.
