President-elect Donald Trump needs to heal, not revel. That is, he must work on healing the divided country he is about to lead, not continue to revel in his victory with a round of thank-you rallies.
Instead, we see: Trump griping about the political correctness of being named "person of the year." Quieting, but not really, chants of "lock her up." Revving up the crowd against the "very dishonest" media. Thanking African Americans who "didn't come out to vote." Jabbing at the "foolish" White House press secretary for daring to point out that candidate Trump had encouraged Russian hacking.

This is the sixth presidential transition I have witnessed, beginning with Jimmy Carter to Ronald Reagan in 1980, and the mood of the city is like no other. "Anxious" does not begin to convey the profound sense of worry.

Now, sober-minded people speak in all seriousness about fears for the future of the republic and the prospect of impeachment. These are not wild leftists but experienced hands, with long historical memories and understanding of how power ebbs and flows here. Whether or not these dire prognostications prove correct, the fact they are being voiced is alarming.

The Donald not revel by thanking the people who voted for him ... but instead should help heal by behaving with grace and dignity like the libtards who lost!
How dare you break my cranky mood with something utterly hysterical!!! :)
For all the talk about how conservatives are the stiff ones, I have seen hundreds and hundreds of posts and pics that have made me burst out laughing on here.
Another myth debunked.
Wrong headline, WaPOO. It should be “Libtards Need to Get Over Their Loss”, not “Trump Needs to Get Over His Victory”. Who’s been carrying on like the wailing infants they are? The Libtards. Who’s been already accomplishing a start to turn this country around from the disaster Odungo turned it into? Trump, even though he hasn’t been sworn in yet. We finally have an adult who’s going to be in the Oval Office after years of a narcissistic infant masquerading as an adult.
Trump Haters gotta hate
HEAL? I’m celebrating! What planet are they living on?
“We won. Elections have consequences. Dems can sit in the back of the bus.” /s
It’s another benefit of Free Republic, I laugh my butt off here all the time. The graphics for instance, classic.
If the WaPo was right, the stock market would have crashed instead of closing in on Dow 20k
Just like obnoxious did
What was it when people asked Mr. Obama to reach across the aisle and bring this nation together?
Oh yeah, “I won!”
FUWP
They’re right. The guy was planning on fireworks after he won!!!
No, wait...
Where did bernie go? lol
Lol
You nailed it with your amusing photos. A picture truly is worth a thousand words this morning.
Trump victory tour VS liberal cry in fest, lovin it! The compost missing this, he is staying connected with the people to make his and the peoples agenda a reality bypassing the fake news propagandists
Trump needs to get over his victory (WaPoo pandering to its Washington establishment base alert)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Why? Obama has not yet gotten over his!
“Jabbing at the “foolish” White House press secretary for daring to point out that candidate Trump had encouraged Russian hacking....”
If I recall correctly, Trumps words at the time were that if the Russians have Hillary’s emails, they should release them.
That is not Trump asking them to hack, it was Trump asking them to release what they already obtained from hacking.
Elections have consequences, and at the end of the day, I won, a newly sworn-in President Obama said eight years ago. So I accept: Trump won, Hillary Clinton lost. That has consequences for personnel and policy.
This reveals where she is getting the basis for her comments: Federal employees who have been barely working for years and getting paid well. They have been researching non-existent Climate Change and forcing regulations on the public for everything under the sun (i.e. Energy Policy, Education, Health, etc.) and have a realization that Trump may actually severely trim back all of that useless activity. They are, behind the scenes, throwing everything they have at Trump and his supporters.
Someone is making some very serious threats through this author and she, reasonably, believes them and realizes what could actually happen in the nation. Someone is telegraphing a VERY strong message that Trump had better back off about trimming back Federal agencies or they are going to pull EVERY THING THEY CAN to see that he is impeached (as Rush Limbaugh has already said). This is very close to going to violence, and she (and we) should be worried.
One comment from the site:
"Dems set the rules they are about to live by, but they don't like that much. "
And another:
"I'm just happy that Trump has taken his pro-American victory tour in America, unlike Obama who took his anti-American victory tour around the world. "
Both excellent comments. They started ALL of this by constantly attacking conservatives and God-fearing citizens here for YEARS (personal experience here for 30+ years) and NOW want to make peace? The moral of the story seems to be edging towards, "Don't start something you can't finish." Democrats might want to consider settling down, keeping a low profile and being quiet. That would be the quickest path towards peace. It's not so much that the conservative philosophy is going to occupy Washington and the rest of the country, but as one poster on Free Republic put it recently,
"You don't want us as mad as hell when we get there."
