I've read up on what defines a Jew and as far as I've ever found there's no DNA marker like there is with other ethnic groups. My wife is Cherokee, for example, and if need be a blood test proves she's a Native American. I gather they can now narrow it down to which tribe these days if anyone cares.
I've never read of anything similar regarding the Jews but maybe you could point it out for me.
You're free to define yourself and your fellow Jews however you like but it comes down to hot air IMHo without the same sort of DNA proof other ethnic groups rely on.
I am not Jewish.
I go by the definition of Jewish Law, Israel and most scholars.
Israel is very involved in Jewish genetic research. They are a genetically identifiable ethnic group.
I will point you to reading material later today.
I’m a Chabadnik, and I believe explicitly in the existence of a special soul in every Jew that transcends whatever wrong they may do or say, that it’s an inheritance from the patriarchs and the giving of the Law on Mt. Sinai. But in terms of public discourse, those that keep espousing the most outrageously libtardian policies “as a Jew” must be told:
This is not Judaism. Your entire concept of Jewishness is bogus and fake. You are a Jew, yes. But your “Judaism” is really worship of Baal. You are not to blame. They lied to you. Come learn what it’s really about. You can disagree, but at least don’t be misinformed. You may find your viewpoint changed drastically, or at least challenged, but that is what intelligent people are expected to do, accept challenges to their paradigms, have them tested in fire with detached intellectual honesty.
As someone who used to go to the racetrack on Rosh Hashannah, I suggest you are wrong. You never know what little seed of tradition will eventually blossom into Shabbat observance.

To describe “Jews” as a bloodline buys into Hitler’s ideology. “Jews” is G-dlines, not bloodlines.
“For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.” That is literally true!
A Jew is never truly lost. He may forfeit privileges of being treated as a Jew, but a Jew is always a Jew, no matter how buried in dirt he is.
No, Hitler was not a Jew at all, and had no Jewish ancestry. He was brought up as a Roman Catholic as a youngster, but left the Church as an adolescent.
So Dave you are saying that Rabbinical Jewish Law, Halakha and the State of Israel are “buying into Hitlers ideology”?
These Jewish authorities all define Jewishness as a matter of inherited blood... not observance of the Mosaic creed.
The Halakha is clear: one does not lose Jewishness by not obeying the creed.
Reading for starters:

(Especially the chapter “Contemporary Judaism”)

Anyone can convert to Judaism
Which has nothing to do with the matter discussed.
Also at least since antiquity conversion to Judaism has been very rare.
Conversion to Judaism (especially Orthodox... Reform/Progressive Judaism is more lax) is not an easy matter and not encouraged by Rabbis.
Jews to this day are largely also of Jewish ethnicity, with genetic origins traceable to the ancient Middle East. Of course during their long history of Diaspora they mixed to some degree with other ethnic groups... but almost all ethnic groups today are the result of mixing.
Still Jews, particularly religiously observant Ashkenazim from Eastern Europe are an very endogamous/genetically close-knit group. This has lead to an own field of medical research (especially in Israel) on diseases largely confined to Ashkenazi Jews.

In short: Jews are bloodline first and foremostly by authorative Jewish definitions and objective criteria.
Most religions are passed down by bloodlines. It’s only in America that there is so much mobility between sects.
I’m not talking about seeds of observance.
Keeping Shabbat is in the Top Ten, and trying it at least once shines a spotlight on you reaching to the heavens.
Someone who worked so hard and risked an entire fortune to bring down communism... yeah, he's really good at hiding who he is and I'd do it in a heartbeat so he and his children could live in peace.
Jews don’t worship their rabbis.
Hashem always sorts it out.
Chabadnik or not, we have a rulebook and if people don’t understand what it says, then they can ask a rabbi.
As a Jew, you’re supposed to think with your brain and not your heart.
“I am not Jewish.”
A Jew would point to Torah for the definition, not Wikipedia.

2) Genetics shows that you can trace any common DNA in significant sized groups of Jewish folks back to Ukraine, Poland, or Spain, not back to any ancient lineage the way you can some European or African populations to this day.
3) The only DNA markers folks who claim to be a part of the Jewish bloodline are sure to have in common with one another are the same markers that all humans have in common. Those prove that we all came from a single mother and father originally way back in the recesses of history.
4) Yes, accepting the race theory is joining Hitler. In fact, until Darwin race had an entirely different meaning.
Enjoy your delusions or actually read something other than what you feel will confirm your preconception. Either way, Merry Christmas.
That’s why converts are just as Jewish as those born into it. But the Torah defined Jewishness in terms of bloodlines long before Hitler existed. His ideology is a perversion, blowing the concept of bloodlines out of proportion, declaring that anyone with an “inferior” bloodline deserves to die, in case they’re conspiring to take over the world.
My brain tells me that this is a non-sequitor, having nothing whatever to do with what I said.
