CIA Reportedly Concludes Russian Interference Aimed To Elect Trump
NPR ^ | 12/10/2016 | Emma Bowman

U.S. intelligence officials have determined that Russia interfered with the 2016 election, specifically to help Donald Trump win the presidency, The Washington Post first reported on Friday.

In addition to hacking into Democratic organizations, Russians hacked the Republican National Committee's computer systems, according to the Post — but they did not release any information that might have been retrieved from Republican networks.

"Intelligence agencies have identified individuals with connections to the Russian government who provided WikiLeaks with thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, according to U.S. officials," the Post reports. "Those officials described the individuals as actors known to the intelligence community and part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and hurt Clinton's chances."

Citing anonymous officials briefed on the issue, the Post says the CIA shared its findings with senators in a closed-door briefing last week, saying it was now "quite clear" that Russia's goal was to tip the presidency in Trump's favor:

" 'It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia's goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected,' said a senior U.S. official briefed on an intelligence presentation made to U.S. senators. 'That's the consensus view.' "

In a previous assessment, CIA officials had thought Russians intervened with the intention of undermining Americans' electoral system, Adam Entous, one of the Post story's reporters, tells NPR's Scott Simon.

You are not paranoid. The democrats and republican elite feel very threatened by a Trump presidency. They are using the propaganda authorized in the 2012 NDAA.

The NDAA of 2012 authorized the use of propaganda against American Citizens,

The renewal this year adds control of access to outside news sources. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3503030/posts

Why would Russia wish to elect they man that is going to yuuuugely increase US hydrocarbon production? And thereby keep
The Rouble forever depressed? Even if the Russians did hack what they released was true. So is the CIA confirming the veracity of the leaks. The RNC claims they were not successfully hacked. Even if they were what would they find? In general the Pubbies are good people even if they make lousy politicians. The Dims are not deplorable they are despicable.

Okay, let's diagram this.

NPR is passing along something the Washington Post reported that cites something anonymous sources heard from intelligence officials who were briefed on this matter.

So, this "information" is at best, what?, seventh hand?

Sheeeeeyit. I am fewer degrees removed from Kevin Bacon than this story is from the truth.

'That's the consensus view.'

"Consensus".

In Washingtonspeak, that means that not everyone is in agreement, doesn't it? Like vast stockpiles of WMD in Iraq?

Ordinarily you’d take a report like this at face-value. But the way Obama politicized all the agencies of government writhing the control of the executive you have to treat this report with a truckload of salt.

Has anyone started to think that there was nothing harmful in the GOP site that Russia could use and all they did was publish unlawful ioncidents that embarrassed the US overseas because the libs were stupid enough to post them and in their egotistical stupidity think they were above it all? And by using the libs justice department to try to hide that fact, they are doing it again?
