Fake News Exposed -- Reporter Tweets Totally False Claim Trump Supporters Booed John Glenn
Daily Caller ^

Posted on 12/09/2016 2:03:19 PM PST by Strac6

Newsweek reporter Kurt Eichenwald is the definition of fake news.

Eichenwald tweeted Thursday night that attendees at Donald Trump’s victory rally actually booed when the President-elect announced the passing of the late, great John Glenn.

He would later go on to delete the tweet, but not before being screenshotted by Mediaite’s Alex Griswold and receiving thousands of retweets. (Mediaite)

“Trump supporters booed John Glenn when Trump mentioned his name at today’s rally,” he wrote. “A real American hero who risked his life [for] us. They booed.”

Eichenwald doubled down on the claim, which was soon to be proven totally false.

Just as Eichenwald was poo-pooing Iowans who voted for Trump, LA Times reporter Mike Memoli tweeted what really happened. Memoli explained that the booing Eichenwald referenced was actually directed at hecklers holding a sign reading, “Iowa says no.”

He also included Trump’s joke about the interruption: “I think they’re actually on our side. They just don’t know it yet.”

After being exposed, Eichenwald apologized for his mistake with a third tweet.

Eichenwald's tweet is really only a symptom of the problem.

Last night's tweet was bad enough, but the much greater problem is that this is proof, that even a month after the election, the MSM are ready to pounce on anything, real or imagined, to degrade Mr. Trump and his supporters.

Reporters, like all of us, make mistakes. But MSM reporters like Eichenwald can't wait to demean Trump, so when something that has a microscopic possibility of being true, but it is negative re: Mr. Trump, either their delusional imaginations or their politics tell them to report it as fact.

Delusional imagination.... or negative political motive; I don't know which is worse.

There are psychoactive medications for neurotic delusional thought processes. But nothing can cure the psychosis called liberalism affecting American journalists.

It’s gone beyond fake news, it’s down right out and out lying.

"Fake News" will be with us until it's outlawed (which will be never). Rumors sell newspapers and mouse clicks. You can't make "gossipin" a crime.

If fake news is outlawed it will soon be followed by real news. Which is why we need to keep it all free and accessible. A smart person checks his sources.

I was corrected here for easily accepting that Hillary had an affair with Yoko Ono - although I was perplexed at how the unknown Hillary became known to Yoko. I assumed some feminist collective stuff. But I was wrong and readily accept I was wrong! And that’s where I differ from libs. They never back off from being wrong; they glory in being wrong.

And of course they full well know the damage is done when they put out fake news. No one listens to the retraction.

Modern “journalists” are advocates, nor reporters, and they use the social and electronic media the same way monkeys in the zoo use poop. Just throw it out there, chances are good nothing bad will happen to you as a result and you just might score a big hit.

With all this fake news stuff; who is supposed to be the determiner of what is real? The news agencies with the fake polls? The Fed government who declares unemployment is 5%?

Mistake, my eye. This was a deliberate lie designed to make Trump supporters look bad. A mistake is when you spell something incorrectly or make a grammatical error. It is not a mistake when you make up something out of thin air and report it as a fact.

Remember how reporters were portrayed in the movies a generation ago, especially the newspaper guys. Hard-bitten and skeptical, they were ‘reporters’ not ‘journalists’. The former reported the news whereas the latter report their opinion without differentiation from straight news. Sure, every newspaper had their opinion pieces in their editorial section BUT, in reaction to the previous generation’s ‘Yellow Press’ operations, that WW2 and post-war generation made that true effort to segregate opinion and news except on the editorial pages.

Portrayed in Charlie MacArthur’s and Ben Hecht’s fabulous play “The Front Page” which is currently playing on B’way. I hear it is a good production despite being played by a bunch of libs who probably believe the moon landing was faked...

The dude needs to be fired. There is no possible excuse for making up crap that one knows is not true. No one should ever trust this loser again.

In 1974’s “The Parallax View” the editor doesn’t believe reporters Joseph Fraley’s stories.

A different delivery guy brings him his lunch, later.

Wonderful movie!!! Check out the original movie with Pat O’Brien. So hard-bitten and cruel as these early reporters were, Colorado.
