Trump can go down in history as the man who saved the United States from the abyss. Not an exaggeration.

And there’s every reason to believe he will do just that.

Different great men for different times. Similarity: both were very secure in themselves and their patriotic values, and didn’t govern by consensus.

“Has Ronald Reagan passed the Republican Party baton to Donald Trump?”

DOH! How the heck could he do that? What an absurd question. Unfortunately, he is not here to do so. The RINOs fought Trump tooth and nail but the people, who have been ignored, disrespected and insulted by them for many years, have spoken. Make America Great Again!

In spite of what the crank Mark Levin says, Trump did win in a landslide - an electoral landslide. And he did it in a much more difficult environment for a Republican than the one Reagan faced. After the major fraud in Detroit that appears to have been uncovered from the recount, it wouldn`t surprise me if he in fact one a popular vote landslide as well.

Reagan didn’t do anything to secure the border. I guess that makes him a ‘real conservative’ according to Levin

I can’t listen to Levin anymore.

I shared his concerns about Trump, but I’m so far thrilled with Trump since the election. And I admire that Levin neither went #NeverTrump.

But the day after the greatest victory for conservatism since 1980, Levin was frothing at the mouth in fury that fewer people were going to see the need for his precious constitutional convention of the states.

This won’t undo the vital service Levin was to conservatism and America during the dark days of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama, but man, I wish he’d retired around November 6th.

...Here’s a grain of salt.

Sure Trump won and gained lots of unexpected support from all over and I love it. But one gigantic factor to consider in this election was that the alternative candidate was a filthy, rotten criminal creep named Clinton. Even democrats looked to a frumpy old socialist so they wouldn’t have to vote for that garbage wagon full of corruption, who thought she was entitled because what? She purportedly has a vagina? The DNC had to cheat to get her across the finish line.

It was a change election as I predicted over a year ago before Trump ever even caught fire. The pendulum swung back to the right as it should. Especially after such a horrid 8 years of an immature, racist a-hole as president.

We won, we did it for Trump and I’m as happy as anyone here could be. But let’s face facts here. The democrats idiocy helped out a lot.

Inwas in my 20’s when Reagan was president. It was a great time to be alive. I am so happy that my son, who will soon be 18, has a chance to experience American greatness like I did when I was young.

The economic malaise is similar, the existential threats to our security and culture are different. The required solutions won’t be exactly the same. At least the top marginal tax rate isn’t over 70%.

F-ing nevertrumpers still at it:

“Levin says that Reagan was a real conservative, and Trump isn’t, “Shame on you, Stephen Moore,” he lectured.”

F you, Levin!

“Andy McCarthy of National Review recently spouted the new favorite line that many Republicans would have beaten Hillary Clinton.”

F you, McCarthy! Oh, and you’re an idiot to boot: any of the other Pub candidates would have been crushed like bugs by the onslaught of the enemedia. Only President Trump could have put together the unique winning coalition that he put together. Does anyone really believe that people would have crawled across broken glass to vote for Yeb! or that Cruz would have attracted independents and Democrats to vote for him? I don’t think so. Pretty much everyone but the die-hard “true conservatives” would have run away from Cruz screaming.

Before the election, I read a run-down of how the Democrats/Marxists had already changed the country by importing legal and illegal aliens, terrorists, etc., by killing babies, by destroying families, by propagandizing children in the Marxist government schools—etc., etc.

Even so, and even with Hillary stealing five states, Trump won.

Trump MUST roll back the Muslim/Mexican invasion. He MUST clean up the voting system. He MUST destroy the government schools, and cleanse the Marxists from the universities.

And, of course, by “he,” I mean Americans.

It has taken me a long time, but I now profoundly believe that Trump will be better than Reagan. Reagan was strong, but he allowed himself to be duped by the democrat socialists. Never a good idea to bargain with them.

Trump will never, ever, be duped. He’s built skyscrapers in communist NYC !!! Oh, and did I mention he loves his country? Trump won’t bargain with the commies. He’ll find a way to bulldoze over them!

Reagan was our greatest president in more than a century. However, at this point in history, I’d rather look at and learn from President Reagan’s mistakes. Reagan did relatively little to dismantle the federal behemoth, which was much smaller back then but still far too large. President Trump needs the opposite approach. He needs to measure his presidency by three metrics: Number of illegals permanently removed, number of jobs created, and number of federal positions/departments eliminated.

Illegals need to be gone, and President Trump needs to keep new illegals from arriving and keep those who do arrive from being released into the general population.

Creating jobs is a second big reason swing voters supported President Trump, and he needs to deliver.

Wiping out whole agencies should be a major goal because that makes it harder for them to grow back under the next big government liberal president.

I believe that under the current circumstances, Reagan would endorse Trump today and they’d get along famously.

Based on my observations so far, Donald Trump is on pace to blow Ronald Reagan out of the water. I was a young man serving in the Marine Corps during Reagan’s first term so I remember that era very well. Reagan was a refreshing change from Carter and he made the decade of the 1980s one of the best times to be an American. But I think Trump is about to take things to a level we have never seen before. His work ethic, his drive and his utter fearlessness to bust up the status quo and try new things has potential to change our nation permanently.

For the better, I presume.

Comparisons with Reagan are way too prenmature.

RR was a conservative. Trump is not.
RR was the best inspirational speaker ever. Trump...not so much.

Is it good that Trump was elected? Yes. The country needs an outsider at this moment. I voted for him, and I think the first blush is positive.

But he needs eight more years before these comparisons can even start to be made.

Drivel! trumps carrier deal of 16 million will buy robots, automation upgrade. He has a trillion dollar stimulus lined up and ivankas is already claiming for the children with taxpayer dollars. So of the 1000 jobs, how many do we get? Jobs created or saved.. dt so far, is making Obama moves. I won’t sit by and give an R a free pass. If he picks gun grabber joe Manchin for anything, I am through with the NRA. Dt actions scream liberal and he is backing down from his make believe campaign rhetoric.
