>>>How much money did they get from Hillary?

Actually...you should be asking: How much money did they NOT get from Hillary. There are not GOP electors wanting to switch to Hillary....but democratic electors not wanting to vote for Hillary...who won their state.

But similar laws in other states that voted for Mr. Trump would also be invalid

I'm no attorney, but different states obviously already have different rules for their electors. My guess would be each state would have to be sued to overturn their specific law or rule.

...And Democrats think Voter ID is a barrier to free and fair elections.

ELECTORS SUE TO BE FREED FROM VOTING ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IN THEIR STATES

Electors do not make the rules, but they MUST follow them; otherwise they MUST be banned permanently from eligibility as electors.

Criminal Hillerite, Soros, or Obama operatives have demonstrated as clearly as a normal adult requires, that they are not only able to "game the system" to frustrate the Constitution and long standing Electoral College rules, BUT, SPECIFICALLY, DETERMINED TO IGNORE BOTH from the getgo.

Those criminals, and those who fund them (Soros, Obama, the DNC or Clinton Criminal Enterprises) deserve to be fined, jailed and barred.

"I thought each state set their own rules. This sounds like wishful thinking on somebody's part."

If it is ruled that these laws are unconstitutional then that would apply everywhere.

"And the Constitution puts these decisions firmly in the hands of the states."

The Constitution puts the method of selecting electors in the hands of the states, but it doesn't say states can dictate what the electors do.

The Colorado electors want to vote for Kasich or McCain and want other electors in other states to do the same and prevent Trump from the 270.

They both say Trump and Pence are not qualified. Ah, the wisdom of College professors.

"If electors are just going to vote their personal preference, then why even hold a national vote?"

One, there is no national vote. There is a collection of state votes where states choose to have them. Which currently they all do.

Two, the electors voting is part of the rules, it's not a change. It's what they are there for.

Figures they’d be from Colorado. Where there are dope stores—excuse me—marijuana therapy centers—on every corner. A lot of the people there seem to need to drug themselves out of reality and stay that way. Otherwise, it’s a gorgeous state and I love its beauty, having hiked a lot of it.

A fantastic (fake) news story would be these electors are suing to be freed to vote for Trump because he’s been such a productive president elect. They feel left out of the winning which is unconstitutional.

So, let’s please notice that this Bacca jerk is the guy trying to talk Trump electors into voting against their states. He is not only not allowed by law to do this himself, he is a Hillary elector (she won in CO). He is an attention hound, fraud. He is talking about nothing and the MSM insists on pretending he is talking about something.

BTW, yes. CO is messed up because it’s Dem party is entirely funded by out of state interests. This make it totally unresponsive to the wants and needs of any CO citizen including all the idiots from Cali.

Also BTW, he is taking this to the feds because CO already told him to pound sand.

If electors are going to be unbound, we'd see electors campaigning, collecting contributions, and running ads in hopes of getting selected.

More likely, though, the country would just abolish the electoral college.

This issue comes up when we talk about the 17th Amendment of the Constitution (direct election of Senators).

In a democratic age, bodies that aren't directly elected by the people lose power and risk being abolished.

We might wish it weren't that way, but it is and has been so for some time.

This is nonsense. There is nothing to sue. The Constitution grants plenary power to the state legislatures to choose the method of elector selection as they see fit. It is totally Constitutional for a state legislature to direct its electors on how to vote.

Article II Section 1

Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors...
This is Supreme Law of the Land, according to Article VI. They cannot sue the Constitution.

They asked the wrong guy and team if they would accept a loss at the polls.

We accepted Obama twice, for very good cause.

They are trying to deny Trump with no cause whatsoever, that is valid.

Correction:

We accepted Obama twice, when we could have objected with very good cause.
