“But similar laws in other states that voted for Mr. Trump would also be invalid, meaning all 538 members of the Electoral College could vote for whomever they wished — at least potentially undoing the result of the election.”

No, suppose they win in The District Court Of Colorado, the ruling would only affect that district. They would have to get a similar ruling in the Circuit Court and the USSC to take effect outside of Colorado.

BTW, the have until 13 December to win their case.

When did Colorado get so effedup?

When so many Californians fled the mess they created in their own state, and brought those same attitudes to Colorado.

They are confused because they are Hillary electors and not Trump one's, so they can't do anything against Trump.

None of these nuts will have any effect on the election of Trump.

The Constitution puts the method of selecting electors in the hands of the states, but it doesn't say states can dictate what the electors do.

What a juvenile non-sequitur!
It doesn't say they must know how to read and write English, either...

Learn what "enumerated" means. If it's not listed, it doesn't exist. The "government" is limited by those enumerated powers.

The Bill of Rights is not enumerated and it absolutely defines the rights of citizens.

Two members of the Electoral College pledged to support Hillary Clinton have filed a lawsuit intended to undo the presidential-election victory of Donald Trump.

See the confusion?

Why am I not surprised that pot gets dragged into the discussion?

And they wonder why people don't think they should be taken seriously.

It's the Left that's doing all of the unhinged whining.

I think his concern about pot ought to be a clue as to where he is coming from.

God save us from libertarian dopers.

If electors can vote as they will, there’s no purpose in having voters.

I'd agree if I were a libertarian doper, but I'm not. Something you might want to consider before you go spouting off about stuff you know nothing about.

Instead of being an a$$ about it, perhaps you could actually address the issue I happened to point out.

It’s generally a good bet that when someone brings up weed, they are a doper. Nobody else gives a sh*t about the issue.

I've been arguing drugs with dopers for nearly a decade. I have zero patience for the topic nowadays. That matters of real necessity can go begging while airtime is wasted on the issue of people getting high, is just a shame.

I brought it up because it was the precise reason the right went so hard and heavy to make it harder to amend the state Constitution. I don’t personally give a rat’s red behind what people think about it, good or bad. Pot is not the issue being discussed. The topic was whiny people on the right and the games they play to get their way.

Sounds reasonable to me. Other states are now having to deal with the idiocy that the California transplants brought to Colorado. As Ann Coulter said, " Get rid of the welfare state first, then we'll talk about weed."

The topic was whiny people on the right and the games they play to get their way.

You call it "Their Way." Rational people merely call it "sanity."

Electors are absolutely free to do what they want to do - which highlights the importance of picking good ones.

If electors are just going to vote their personal preference, then why even hold a national vote?

We don't.

More government is not the answer.

at least potentially undoing the result of the election

The result of the election is that 535 individuals were appointed by the several states to elect the President and Vice President on December 19 of this year.

This is annoying stuff. Even though these are Clinton delegates and their votes are insignificant, the system they are a part of seems to puzzle them. That bothers me that they are so poorly educated.

We vote for a candidate for president now and not for an elector to pick a person for president. That is why they are bound to the vote and they no longer have that original freedom that electors appear to have had.
