He "lied his ass off"
Washington Post ^

Posted on 12/07/2016 10:39:19 AM PST by Stopthethreat

The Secret Service agents told the Carrier workers to stay put, so Chuck Jones sat in the factory conference room for nearly three hours, waiting for president-elect Donald Trump. He’d grown used to this suspense.

Seven months earlier, at a campaign rally in Indianapolis, Trump had pledged to save the plant’s jobs, most of which were slated to move to Mexico. Then the businessman won the election, and the 1,350 workers whose paychecks were on the line wondered if he’d keep his promise.

Jones, president of the United Steelworkers 1999, which represents Carrier employees, felt optimistic when Trump announced last week that he’d reached a deal with the factory’s parent company, United Technologies, to preserve 1,100 of the Indianapolis jobs — until the union leader heard from Carrier that only 730 of the production jobs would stay and 550 of his members would lose their livelihoods, after all.

At the Dec. 1 meeting, where Trump was supposed to lay out the details, Jones hoped he would explain himself.

“But he got up there,” Jones said Tuesday, “and, for whatever reason, lied his a-- off.”

IT is because of unions and liberals in government, that businesses are forced to leave for cheap labor... I suppose IF Carrier departed Indiana totally, Chuck Jones would still have a ‘union’ job?

So let’s get this straight. Trump promises to save the plant’s jobs. He saves 730 of them. But because he didn’t save all 1,100 of them, he “lied his ass off.” Trump isn’t God. He can’t force Carrier to keep all the jobs in the US. The most he can be charged with is not living up to his promise. But that is a weak charge because he saved over half the jobs. Would this union boss rather have zero jobs at the plant? How have his beloved Dems saved any jobs. If Hillary won, does he think Carrier would have kept any in the US?

“the Union was negotiating severance packages”

More like the union leaders are negotiating a way to save their own butts.

The want the ISSUE of out of work members. It is power for the union bosses. Dependency to the establishment class.

Independent, educated, taxpaying citizens are toxic to the establishment class.

This type of article is only the beginning of the attacks that will come. The left was caught with “their pants down” by Trumps victory therefore their magnificent leftist organization needs time to get going. What we have seen to date, an attack on each and every word Trump says, is merely a rear guard action. Remember the left has achieved nearly complete control over vital institutions such as academia, business(Zuckerberg!),media, churches and cultural expression. They take lie, make it big, and repeat it and finally all will believe the lie. "Three weeks of press treatment and the truth is recognized by all."

Thanks for this reality.

Did Chuckie as a union boss thug vote for Clinton? All the unions official position was all in for Hillary.

The IBEW were all in for Obama twice, while he destroyed their membership with a war on coal.

Yeah, he’s the guy who drew Wile E. Coyote and directed The Grinch. Never figured him for a union enforcer.

“The big story is that Carrier is investing 16 million for advanced technology production equipment in it’s US operations and not in Mexico.”

Heard on Lou Dobbs that Carrier staying in the U.S. will generate thousands more jobs (possibly as many as 50,000) in the U.S. as Carrier will be buying raw materials in many companies here in the U.S. keeping those companies viable too.

I made the mistake of going to the compost’s website and read some of the comments.

Trump is going to have to give up the idea of uniting the country. Short of a direct intervention by God, it’s not going to happen. Instead, he should focus on patching up the holes then pump out the water. We are sinking fast. Things probably haven’t been this crappy since the Civil War. It’s probably worse.

And hopefully the others will return shortly. This is still the decision of Carrier though and not Trump.

“By the way, Mr. Union man, how many Carrier jobs did Obama save?”

And how many Carrier jobs did the Union save? Oh, the same number as Obama - NONE.

Yeah, that new investment will help Carrier convert huge tonnage of raw materials and other parts to lots of units sold

Lots of jobs added up and down the supply chain

Obama watches as President as these jobs leave the country.
Clinton never said anything about saving jobs.
Union bosses kept taking the money, and then watch as obama let their jobs leave the country.

Now unin boss is moaning , because Trump even though he is not President saved over 700 jobs.

OK this is yet another hit piece by the media to attack Trump who is not even a frigging President yet, and they say nothing about obama who is President. WOW just f-in WOW

Chuck Jones came out and said nice things about Trump after the deal was announced.

I am sure all of the assembled brass in his national union has been stomping his head over that for the past 14 days.

He is trying to slink back into the fold.
