Khalid Sheik Mohammed, one of the masterminds in the 9/11 attack, said that “the ferocity and swiftness” of former U.S. President George W. Bush’s reprisal to the Terrorst attacks on U.S. soil astonished Al Qaeda

The new revelation was found in psychologist James E. Mitchell’s new memoir, “Enhanced Interrogation: Inside the Minds and Motives of the Islamic Terrorists Trying To Destroy America.”

Mitchell wrote, “How was I supposed to know that cowboy George Bush would announce he wanted us ‘dead or alive’ and then invade Afghanistan to hunt us down? Khalid explained that if the United States had treated 9/11 like a law enforcement matter, he would have had time to launch a second wave of attacks.”

Trump would have leveled Tora Bora. Just to show we meant business.

I agree. I have often wondered who put up the roadblocks and who gave him the “religion of peace” nonsense. The Saudis? I hated seeing him making nice with the Saudi prince.

Astonished?

The day it happened, when I first came in to work and saw the clips of the towers falling, my first thought out loud was “They are going to hunt these people down to the ends of the Earth”. That is exactly what happened.

IMO, that was his finest hour. But he then fumbled at some point.

I’m with you - I still like W.

I will never forget how he handled things after 911 - “pretty soon they will all hear you”...and the prayer service....and all of it.

That said, I am very very sorry he didn’t support President Trump. And he had some other faults....but all in all he was a heck of a lot better than Obummer and/or Hitlery could ever be.

****I think I’m the only person in the country, save the Bush family themselves, to still like W. it saddened me to see him become so parochial this election, but he’s still a great man.****

You are not alone, George W. is a loving husband, father and decent human being. IMHO he was never consumed by a desire for power or to become President - it was a sense of duty over desire. He would have been happy in the private sector - or on his ranch cutting wood & being a cowboy. He has never been a camera hog like Gore and soon to be Obama. 9/11 showed us his resilience and ability to lead.

I’m not in that club. The years directly after 9/11 were Dubya’s shining time. I mean, I wish he’d been even a little more aggressive, but he did well. I shudder to think what it would have been like under Gore.

George W.’s finest accomplishments (along with the initial 9/11 response) were being Pro-Life and also being for God’s plan for marriage...a man and a woman joined together.

For these things I will always be grateful. He still to this day seems like a very warm, caring, and decent person. And what a relief it was for him to become President after those immoral Bill Clinton years.

But he DIDN’T FOLLOW THROUGH.

President Bush used to drive me nuts that he would not answer his critics. And, may conservatives and Republicans would not stand up for him.

We conservatives could have given a lot more support.

Bush was one of the greatest presidents from after 911 until the Iraq war

Bush blundered by getting bogged down in IRAQ. We suffered 8 long years of Obola because of that mistake.

Agree. This sounds like fake news, a psy-ops by those that want an endless war on terror so that they can get more security contracts for useless X Ray machines and more TSA perverts at the airports.
Are we supposed to believe these muzzies?

I don’t think you get the 17th back as it was. How about the following modifications that gives the state as an entity a voice?

1. Current election system for Senators but state legislature may recall,

2. State legislature elects but citizens may recall,

3. Variant on the Louisiana system, primary picks top 3 vote getters, legislature picks senator.

4. Another variant on the Louisiana system, state legislature picks 5 candidates 2 of which must be the minority party, top vote getter gets office or do a run-off if one falls under 50%.

I’m with you - considering what he was up against - the Clinton recession, 911, the collapse of the economy due to the ‘rats decades long efforts to give away housing to the poor at taxpayer expense, to name a few issues - he’s one of our better prezes....

And since Bush left office, the jihadis have been stunned by bammy’s love for them and his willingness to let them gain strength.

W lost the war when he said “Islam is the religion of peace.”

His daddy made him say that.
