Illegal Immigrant Dreamers Get Help From Senators For Full Legal Status

By Stephen Dinan - December 1, 2016.

After the White House ruled out a pardon for illegal immigrant Dreamers, a bipartisan group of senators vowed Thursday to write a bill next year granting them full legal status — though they will need to persuade a President Trump to back their effort.

Two veterans of the last major immigration fight, Sen. Richard J. Durbin, Illinois Democrat, and Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, said trying to deport some 740,000 illegal immigrant Dreamers would be inhumane.

They said they will try to have a bill written next week and ready to go in the new year, and perhaps pass it before the next Congress is sworn in and before Mr. Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration. Their goal, they said, is to halt deportations in the short term, giving lawmakers breathing room to take another stab at a broad legalization bill.

“I’ve talked to a number of my colleagues on the floor, on both sides of the aisle about this, and there are strong emotions in favor of helping these young people,” said Mr. Durbin, who has been working on the issue for 15 years.

What is inhumane is giving 740,000 law breakers a free pass.

Ah, an appeal to emotionalism and not legalism.

It was to be expected, but from law makers? That's inhumane.

We should not be giving these people anything but a place in line to apply for lawful citizenship. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Amnesty and open borders advocates should be arrested and executed for accessory to murder.

Trump made it clear in his 60 Minutes interview that only “criminals” are going to be deported.

In Trump's words: after the “border is secure” and the situation is “normalized,” then he will make “a determination” about the people whose only crime is being in the USA illegally.

In other words, 90% of the illegal immigrants in the USA will not be deported, and the issue of Amnesty will be postponed until after the 2020 presidential election.

By the way, almost all illegal immigrants would self-deport if Trump mandated universal E-Verify and promised to arrest and sue American employers who did not obey immigration laws.

I don’t understand why it is so evil to send a young person back to the country he/she was born in. It is important that they know their heritage and the values of their home country. A request for re-admittance and eventually citizenship could be fast tracked. That’s fine. But US teens and their families spend millions on a junior year abroad to learn the culture and language of another country. Send them back or if they are willing and qualified, let them join the military. Easy peasy.

There are still more Cheap Labor Express Republicans in the Senate than there are those who side with the citizens and the rule of law.

McCain, Rubio, Hoeven and Murkowsky all voted for the Gange Of Eight amnesty and they were all re-elected.
The only ones who were not were Ayotte and Kirk.
Heller, Flake, Corker and Hatch come up in 2018 and they need to be replaced with non-traitors.

They have to leave to get in line like everybody else.
There is no line that forms inside the country for illegal aliens.
That’s what they are trying to create.
