With final exams approaching, some universities are offering their students stress relief measures such as puppies, acupuncture, and massages to ensure they don’t get too stressed out.

The University of North Carolina-Wilmington, for example, is providing its students with a “relaxation station,” complete with a number of stress relieving activities like puzzles, coloring, massages, puppies, and even acupuncture.

Hey, if they use the Scientific Method to test it and it improves test scores, I'd say ok, do that before a test.

Not the college pay for it, though. Pay for your own puppy or borrow the neighbor's. And get your neighbor to do your massage.

It’s easy to pride ourselves by jeering at it and patting ourselves on the back by implication... not so easy to patiently watch the process of learning happen, which it will, or trying to help constructively with comforts that are authorized from the throne of heaven itself.

For decades our universities have become caricatures of themselves, producing graduates who become increasingly irrelevant. These graduates can't find real jobs so they gravitate to the only fields available to fools, viz. politics and education.

Ultimately, we discover our universities are controlled by these people. How do we discover this? Because they introduce acupuncture and puppies for student's test anxiety.

If these are the future leaders of America, then America has no hope.

Boy, talk about living in the Belly of The Beast, eh?

I went to see Ann Coulter talk at Wellesley College (Hillary’s old stomping grounds) and it was hilarious. She gave better than she got!

I am sure Mike would do the same. I get the impression, the libs there stopped having real discussions with him because he wouldn’t play their games, and they would get eviscerated by them as a result.

I wonder how they get the puppies, and also how they prevent pilferage. A healthy good natured puppy can be worth %300 and up.

Dunno, this seems to make more sense than some of the other oddities, because it at least is focused on success in academic pursuits. I’d consider THAT a positive thing.

And what if it’s a veterinary school or a school of massage?

Many of the most important things I learned during college were about growing up, not academics. When I hired college graduates, what I looked for were character traits more than just academic knowledge. Half the statistics graduates could do the job I assigned, but that wasn’t what I was looking for.

What I wanted to hire was people who actually would do the work that needed to be done, not just mindless drones who would follow instructions perfectly. I needed people who would question their instructions, people who wouldn’t let anything get in the way of finishing early, since late was unacceptable and things come up. I needed people who could deal with an arrogant politician and not burst into tears (I saw that before I had my own company, and I managed not to hire any of those delicate snowflakes). I needed people of character who would not lie, cheat, or steal (yep, that happens a lot in the workplace). Someone who needs a safe room with puppies and Play-Doh may be able to turn in well-written papers, but I don’t want them working for me in the real world.

Goodness! How did I ever get through a tough science major, working my own way through college, without hot chocolate and puppies to play with? These spoiled brats are a damn disgrace to their parents and their country.

Employers don’t provide puppies for an inability to perform. They give pink slips.

I suspect snowflakes would want to work for me anyways. They should be glad to get the pink slip.

What happened to staying up all night and cramming with coffee and No-Doz and organizing a group of friends to make sure nobody fell asleep and missed their exam?

I like traditions.
