John Kerry isn’t going quietly into the night

"We’re going to have one hell of a debate over the course of the next few years . . . and I can promise you this . . . I am not going to go quietly into the night,’’ Kerry declared to raucous applause from the Women’s Foreign Policy Group, which gathered in Washington Tuesday for what was billed as a valedictory address. What they got instead was a cri de coeur not to toss hard-fought deals in the dustbin."

We’re fighting “a dragon called trade,” when the issue is “inequity”: lack of education, retraining, good wages, adequate Social Security benefits, a workers safety net, he said.

But he saved his most passionate defense for climate accords like the Paris deal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. That’s not surprising: My first interview with Kerry, 19 years ago, was at climate talks in Kyoto, Japan, when he was already deeply concerned about the threat to the planet.

When did Kerry ever attend a debate in the U.S. Senate? Now that he is gone he wants to debate?

After receiving minor wounds, and putting himself in for a third purple heart for receiving a cut the size of a grain of rice, John Kerry was immediately sent home from Vietnam.

However, here is what an actual purple heart hero went through.
Corporal Archie Miller of Portsmouth, Ohio was finally ordered home when he received his 5th Purple Heart in 1945. While in battle, under enemy fire, and fighting aggressively unlike John Kerry, Miller was wounded 2 times by sniper fire, 2 times by mortar fire, and was last wounded by a Japanese hand grenade.
His wife said he was too tough to die.

Yeah. He can say what he wants while he has a “mini” bully pulpit from the job. Once he’s out, he’s just the husband of some rich lady.

A white guy? At age 76 in 2020? Age 80 before his first term would end? I’d bet not.

Poor John - he’s hoping his spouse doesn’t ‘go north’ for a few more years. Otherwise he’ll have to find another rich widow to support him.

The oldest president to assume office was Ronald Reagan (age 69 years, 349 days), who was also the oldest in office (age 77 years, 349 days) on leaving that office.

Nobody pays any attention to Kerry now. Why would anyone pay attention to him in the future when he is a private citizen?

Johnny’s going to need buckets of Teresa’s gin-soaked raisins to kill the unending pain of irrelevance.

Wonder if they’ll stay together...

(My song parody 2004)
Have yourself Kerry Little Christmas cozy all the way
While the seat of power is so far away
You’ll be just one more lib in the Senate thanks to W
You won’t live on Pennsylvania Avenue

Ketchup heiress has lots of dough, lots and lots of dough,
to spend
It won’t buy you the the White House though, for the voters know, my friend
Mondale, Gore and also Mike Dukakis know just how you feel
When you’re seen you just haven’t any appeal
So have yourself a Kerry Little Christmas Now

(Massachusetts)
He is going back to Massachusetts
Couldn’t win the White House if he tried
And they still love him back in Massachusetts
They voted for him through all those times he lied
Got a lot of votes in San Francisco
New York and L.A. they loved him too
But he’s still going back to Massachusetts
The Swift Boat Hero left Democrats so blue

POST ELECTION 2004-— CNS News Service
Meanwhile, outside Kerry’s Copley Square rally, a contingent of College Republicans from Northeastern University marched through the sea of Kerry supporters and got heckled.
Brian Henchey, one of the College Republicans marching through the crowd told CNSNews.com that he had “never seen more sad and depressed faces in my life than what I have seen here in Copley Square tonight.”
A distraught woman confronted Democratic U.S. Rep. Harold Ford in the lobby of the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel and screamed, “Can you tell me why everybody made a mistake?” Ford responded, “Let me talk to the candidate before I make a comment. It’s been a long day.”

Another woman standing near Ford began to openly weep at the prospect of a Kerry loss.
