This is a change; apparently Saturday Night Live has switched gears from nonstop making fun of Trump to making fun of the liberal snowflakes who can't get over the election, by doing a sketch about a new bubble-covered city being built for them to live in isolation so that they can go on pretending that Trump isn't president.
"Plannig is underway to give you everything you need! (Except police and firemen - we haven't found any who are willing to live here yet..)"
That is funny! Let’s hope they keep it up.
Very clever — and so true. I hope we see a lot more of this.
Later
If you watch it a couple of more times and keep a sharp eye, you might see some funny things you missed the time before. :)
There is a lot of gold left untouched in that mine.
I was at my job in Sa Francisco the next week after they aired that, and my co-workers were like, “no need to build that, we have one already, it’s called the SF Bay Area!”
Nothing could induce me to watch that garbage. Nor for that matter the usual late night “comedians” (who apparently gave up comedy in order to relentlessly push an anti-Trump agenda) I’d rather tend my cholla plantation.
Yes, true. Like the safety pin on the man’s lapel. :^)
Is this sea change part of The Trump Effect?
For about a few weeks.
Then they will all be back to their regular snarky selves.
Thankfully Portlandia is around. The only show that actually pokes fun at these people.
Ping.
ahhh, you’re missing out. Its really very funny.
the eye roll from the black woman after that line was a nice touch.
Snort...
Halfway through, they show currency with Bernie Sanders’ face on it. The audience claps and cheers in approval; the exact crowd that’s being mocked...proving they’re too obtuse to “get it” after it’s already been made clear who the target was.
If they want people to keep watching for the next eight years, this pivot was inevitable.
Mrs. Infool7 says “We can make a bubble city for them.... make it in Mexico”
ping for later viewing, after work
wow! Good find since I quit watching them decades ago! Thanks!
