Float a name as a sure thing and watch the reaction.

Do you think it was an intentional fake leak from the Trump team?

I think it leaked out too early but IMHO it’s the real deal. I’ve heard the Mattis rumor for days now. Also, if Don Trump Jr retweeted the Wash Post link, it adds credibility.

I don’t know if this is true either, but a reddit post at the_donald says there’s a draft House bill ready to go with Mattis’ name in it to vote for the waiver required for his nomination.

After the dems won lost in Vietnam, I’ve been looking for a good win.

Isn't that what you meant?

And yes, I too look forward to America being both good and great again.

I never saw “Mac Arthur” the movie. Wasn’t that Gregory Peck? Can’t imagine him convincingly playing a no-nonsense general.

I thought Trump had to get a waiver first because, by statute, as a 2013 Army retiree, Mattis has not been out of the service long enough to legally assume a civilian office,

Trump was born the day after Patton died.

Patton died on 21 December 1945 in Heidelberg, Germany. Trump was born on 14 June 1946 in Queens, NY.

The best part is how Obama is already beginning to fade and is being treated like the buffoon that's always was by both the international community and industry leaders.

All those years that Obama refused to work with and negotiate his legislation with the Republicans will now destroy his legacy. Since he went around the constitution and ruled by executive decree, all his efforts are now dust in the wind and he will go down in history as the single worst president in US history followed by a golden age of Trump.

I gather it is true, but I guess we’ll have to wait for confirmation.

Yea my son said that morale was down in the Marine Corps, and after I spoke to the DI’s at Parris Island, and others then I can see why.
DI’s were instructed to not swear to recruits, they do of course. The amount of regulations now in the Marines is out of this world.
When I served we would have a fight with a pal, and then go out to drink later. Now if one gets i a fight there can be charges.

Hopefully now the Marine Corps will be changed to more of a fighting unit, and those who cannot , or should not be there will be thrown out, or never make it through boot camp.

Thanks to your son for his service, and could he not rejoin seeing as he just left?

"The Democrats will fight many of Trump’s appointments but I don’t think that this will be one of them."

I don't think there will be to much opposition.
McConnell has been bought off with the appointment of his
wife as Sec. of Transportation. (Which I guessed would happen.)
McConnell will whip any recalcitrant Republican Senators in line. Democrats, well we'll see. I expect
McConnell's wife will be the last name submitted to the
Senate for confirmation (after all the rest have first been confirmed.)
