“According to The Washington Post, a source close to the transition team told them that President-elect Donald Trump had reportedly selected General James “Mad Dog” Mattis to be the Secretary of Defense”

Turns out WaPo and the rest of the fake news media who picked this “story” up are incorrect.

Trump transition team spokespeople say that no decision has been made yet.

This report is simply more fake news from fake news sources.

Patton had a replica of the 1873 Colt 45 revolver and a S&W 357 Magnum revolver

I had a professor for a military strategy class at Georgetown in 1980 who was a retired Army Colonel. Given that his views were somewhat to the right of that wussie, Ghenghis Khan, we affectionately called him “A-Bomb Atkinson.”

He did have a plan for the hostages in Iran. “You have the President announce to the world that the towel-headed camel jockeys had better release our hostages unharmed within 48 hours. If they don’t, you claim that they were all murdered, and you then attack Iran. Oh, and the first target for carpet-bombing by a wing of B-52s is the U.S. Embassy compound - you can’t say that they were all murdered and then have any show up alive later on.”

Now you know why he had that nickname.

I’m betting that old Col. Atkinson is a happy dude, wherever he may be right now (alas, he died in 1999).

Now that is an interesting parallel. A “Marshall Plan” to restore and to rebuild America after WW Obama.

When I saw this article, I checked DJT Twitter, Facebook and Transition website, and did not see any mention of it. So I wondered about that. Now I see Jason Miller, the DJT Transition Team Communications Director, tweeting that the decision has not been made yet. Maybe it will be Mattis, but evidently this did not come from the Trump team.

“flying NOE”

Can you explain that term, if you don’t mind?

I’m just a lowly Army brat, and have never heard it.

Have we been asleep for 8 years? It’s a Democrat strategy. Float a name as a sure thing and watch the reaction.

“General Patton believed in reincarnation. You don’t imagine that just maybe....”

This’ll twist yer noodle. Trump was born the day after Patton died.

Getting women off of ships and out of combat is a good idea, but what I really meant is putting a certain class of people back into the closet.

For the life of me, I just cannot imagine being in a combat situation with one of those things beside me, not really knowing what to do simply because that thing was not there to fight to begin with. Or having the thing really go all feminine and start to cry.

Or having some coddled snowflakes just take off and run like hell in the face of the enemy.

Congress can REPEAL laws, with the President’s signature.

Not sure they can AMEND laws once signed, and I’m fairly sure they can’t WAIVE laws either.

As I said, if the waiver provision is written into the law, that’s cool. If it isn’t, this is going to be in the courts for years.

George Marshall got a waiver, but that was in 1950. There was no opposition in Congress, in 1950, to things that were good for America.

I hate to break it to you, but that is no longer the case.

Ivory is near impossible to get. Mother of pearl has been widely used by real western gunslinger as well as ivory, bone and antler. The standard gun grips were wood and hard rubber and during WW 2 plastic was prevalent.

I have a pair of 1890 top break Nickel plated S&W pocket pistols one has nice mother of pearl grips these are in the anemic 38 S&W caliber(not to be confused with 38 Special ) . These as Patton said in the movie of the same name carried by Pimps and gamblers. But also by anyone who wanted a concealable weapon with fancier than plain wood or hard rubber grips.
If Patton actually said the line. It was probably to ruffle the feathers of the news media who he despised. As all good soldiers should.
