The Real Reason Hillary Asked for a Recount
Townhall.com ^ | December 1, 2016 | Ed Klein

Why did Hillary Clinton join Jill Stein, the Green Party’s oddball presidential nominee, in asking for a recount of the votes in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania when everyone knows that such a recount won’t change the outcome of the 2016 election?

Part of the answer is that people close to Hillary—Huma Abedin, Chelsea Clinton, and Sidney Blumenthal—encouraged her to ask for a recount as a way of lifting her spirits.

“She is weepy, looks ten years older and is very whiny,” said one of Hillary’s closest friends. “She has been drinking wine pretty heavily, much more than usual. She mopes around all day, swimming in a sea of recriminations and complaining that her campaign managers were ‘incompetent,’ Bill and Chelsea ‘didn’t work hard enough,’ FBI Director Comey was ‘in league with Trump.’”

In addition, President Obama convinced Hillary that it was in the best interest of the Democratic Party if the Clinton legal team got involved with the recount and didn’t leave it to Jill Stein.

“The president felt that the progressives were acting stunned and helpless and had to rise out of their stupor and show that they weren’t going to take their defeat lying down,” said the source. “Contesting the results of the election was the best and fastest way to stir the morale and fighting spirit of the demoralized party.

“Obama felt that a recount would plant a seed with the base that the election was somehow dishonest,” the source continued. “He wanted to raise serious questions about the legitimacy of the Trump presidency.”

And what did Bill Clinton—the man Charlie Rose called “the best political animal that’s ever been in American politics”—think of all this?

Said a close Clinton adviser: “Bill thinks the recount is going to backfire as a strategy because there are probably no more than a handful of questionable ballots and they could actually wind up adding to Trump’s numbers and validate rather than invalidate his election.”

She canceled the fireworks show the night before.
Something must have been registering then that she
might not win.

It would have been a lot cheaper if they had just taken her to Knott’s Berry Farm and let her pet the little animals...

I don't think they have beavers there.

#104 Hitler liked his dog and posed with the dog many times then had his dog killed. You know what happened to the Clintons dog? Arkicide.

“...ask for a recount as a way of lifting her spirits.”

Actually-I think the whole ‘recount’ issue is a non-issue manufactured and driven by the DNC and the MSM.

Because for THEM, it IS imperative to obfuscate the actual depth and breadth of the Clinton loss in this election.

While the MSM focuses on the ‘non-issue’ - nothing and no one is actually reporting on how America positively and definitively rejected the idea of a Clinton Presidency and also by extension, how the Liberal platform has been defeated, IN DETAIL.

This in itself, is a mandate the likes of which I have not seen in my personal experience.

I don’t know how the (STILL bickering) Republicans are accepting this Liberal, stage managed post election circus and by so doing, failing to capitalize on the HUGE victory this is! Conservatives should be cashing in on this and taking FULL advantage of the size and scope of the victory and everything associated with it!!

It’s obvious that in the last 2 Presidential elections, Democrats had nothing LIKE the support Trump has won and yet Liberals did WAY more with their Kabuki 'mandate' than Conservatives are allowing themselves with the real thing!

Stupid Republicans continue to shoot themselves in the foot and they will forfeit the tremendous political capital that is remaining there unused! C'mon, it's time for us to get OUR ticket punched here!!

I’ll probably get flamed for saying this, but if it wasn’t for Hillary’s antics & Bill’s philandering & abuse of women (ok, and his bad deal with North Korea), he wasn’t a horrible president [...]

and his Supreme Court appointments.

Actually I've long wondered how rabidly pro-abort women (like Hillary, Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer) can feel comfortable holding a newborn.

My attitude changed completely the first time I held my daughter, nearly 30 years ago. Been ardently pro-life ever since that moment...it was truly overwhelming to me.

Another thought hit me a few moments later: I realized why all of those fathers looked at me the way they did when I was taking out their daughter on a date. lol

I think you're right about Hillary being uncomfortable around small children. She never spent real time with Chelsea, she had paid staff to change her diapers, clean up her messes, stuff like that.

From personal experience with three kids, I'm a certified toxic waste handler.

Don't forget the real "glass ceiling; "the huge hotel reserved for her "victory speech."

Her pathetic "glass ceiling" BS was always a big effing deal!

Sarah Palin is still young...

Preferring Bill Clinton over Hillary or Obama doesn’t automatically make him “not a horrible president”.

and his Supreme Court appointments.

And robbing Social Security into near bankuptcy.
Then, to add insult to injury, initiate paying Double tax on income by taxing Social Security income!

Not a bad president compared to his dog's close call for the country, maybe!

even when Bill was President, I thought Hillary was the real mastermind behind the deaths. He probably had some knowledge but little enough to have plausible deniability - she is the evil one who masterminded the wetwork.

And frankly, I am glad she is suffering
