Pundits are terrible at predicting presidencies; remember the hymns to the greatness of the Second Lincoln, the New Roosevelt, and the Democratic Reagan that wafted to the heavens during the Obama transition. And the pundits were even worse at predicting Trump’s fate during the election; how many times did they predict his demise? But now, as convinced as ever of his incompetence and their infallibility, the punditocracy is telling us why the Trump administration is doomed to implode.
It’s not that they don’t have some good arguments to make. On the Left, many believe he will be a kind of American Mussolini or Putin, an authoritarian populist who enriches himself while attacking the fundamental institutions of democratic rule. On the Right, the fear is more that he will be an American Berlusconi, accumulating political power which he then fritters away in efforts to enrich himself and his family. Centrist technocrats fear he will be a bull in the global china shop, wreaking havoc through ignorance and carelessness more than malice as he shatters the rare and irreplaceable treasures of liberal world order. Business fears that ill-considered trade policies could set off damaging trade wars that would harm both the American economy as a whole and the many American corporations whose bottom lines depend on open global trade. When it comes to foreign policy, there are those who worry that Trump will be too dovish, giving away the store to Vladimir Putin. Others fear he will bring about World War Three by rash actions against states like North Korea and Iran....

It would be worth it to mount such a campaign just to see the liberal brain shrapnel painting the walls.
Obama would blow a gasket if there was serious talk about putting Trump on Mt. Rushmore instead of Obama’s image.
He would ball his fists up and begin to stamp his feet! “No, no, NO!!!”
Zero can’t be on Mt. Rushmore, they aren’t going add a void to the monument.
I’d say put his image up there with a Trump Hotel built on top of his head. Now that would fun.
How can you worry about setting off a trade war that we are in and have been in since 1990? A war we are losing I might add.
I agree with you. We should start up a petition. This would be great. (We went to Mt Rushmore in Sept; something to see, for sure!!!)
Or just let him build a Trump hotel on top.

Trump will need his own Monument—bigger than Mt. Rushmore, bigger than Stone Mountain! But, that will be for the people of 2035 to do—not us—not yet! lets not give him awards (like a Peace Prize) before he earns them. I think he will! Towns will re-name themselves Trumpville, Highways and Bridges will be named for him—and in time—an armored Battleship will be cristened with Ivanka Breaking the wine bottle over the prow of the Nuclear, rail gun armed battlewagon—the USS Donald Trump. Have to use his first name so as not to confuse it with the 47th President Donald Trump Jr.

I read your post. The part you quote is why I assumed that the rest might also be a joke. Did he really take any steps to actually trash the monument?
But the advance in technology required to add a void to matter might indirectly stimulate the economy in a way that Zero himself never did.
