Senate Democrats are making it clear that Sen. Jeff Sessions will not have an easy time being confirmed as President-elect Donald J. Trumps first attorney general.
In a letter addressed to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Democrats on the committee pushed for extensive confirmation hearings, indicating that they plan resistance, despite the fact that they referred to him as a colleague with whom they have a personal and cordial relationship.
The senators also requested that Grassley allow for outside witnesses to testify on Sessions track record on immigration, civil and voting rights, womens rights, and government oversight due to his extensive record on these important issues.
Part of the letter reads, [w]hen our country is struggling with so many divisions, the committee and the entire Senate must ask whether Senator Sessions is the right man to lead the agency charged with securing and protecting the constitutional and civil rights of all Americans.
The letter was signed by Sens. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Richard Dick Durbin (D-IL), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Al Franken (D-MN), Christopher Koons (D-DE), and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT).
Earlier this month, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) one of Congresss most progressive legislators called on President-elect Trump to rescind his decision to nomination

If the GOP sticks together he can get through. And, that the Dems have so few signing, actually seems like a good sign to me. Worst case, if they do shoot him down, Trump can simply counter with Rudy.
The intentions of the left are plain for everyone to see. If the Republicans drop this man because of being afraid to take up for him then they have won and will do it over and over again. I would hope they don’t fall for this scare tactic.
The democrats do not want law and order.
Jeff Sessions should indicate he will investigate Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer who have made hundreds of millions while in office.
Dianne Feinsteins husband wins near-billion dollar California high speed rail contract
Sessions knows where the bodies are buried:
Senator Diane Feinstein’s husband is Richard Blum. He’s made billions off government contracts. In 2011 the post office decided to sell a few historic buildings. The buyers were found they just needed someone to do the paperwork. He got the contract and charged commisions in excess of 900 million.
In 2015, the Postal Service has decided to sell 56 more buildings and Blum was selected to do the deal, again. He should make another Billion or more.
Richard Blum and his personal company(which includes DiFi) are the majority stockholders in Comcast.
Elaine Chao at Transportation guarantees that Trump gets his entire cabinet regardless of the noise and clamor made up by the Party that is nothing but noise and clamor.
They can “pen” all the letters they want if it makes them feel good about themselves, but they need to take this up with Harry Reid who installed the “nuclear option” in 2013, which means all of President’s Executive Branch appointments will be approved by simple majority votes.
Miss Lindsey and flaky Flake are already saying they won’t stand for any nuclear option.
Look for McCain to get his gang back together
No doubt the Communists (I mean Democrats - what difference does it make?) are already soliciting script-writers and sending out casting calls to find the next Anita Hill clone to lie for them under oath.
Grassley’s response should be “No way you’re going to Bork this man. No outside testimony. No filibuster. In other words, screw you.”
I just remembered Al Franken’s skit where he’s wearing diapers. It always struck me as over the top creepy.
Seems quite uncertain at this point whether Franken has ever been physically present at Comet Pizza. Or whether he knows the Abramovic person.
And speaking of pizzagate, Leahy has apparently been very fond of Podesta, if I remember correctly.
I have no idea whether they’re concerned Sessions might bust the pizza problem wide open.
Sure the scum of the marxist dimocrat party will do. The scum support rapist of children and the murder of the unborn, and they claim to be the most wonderful for the planet. Funny how scum choose what they love. The are the fifth of the planet. A huge purge of the scum will only be able to cleanse this Republic. The largest fights we have before us is the Supreme Court AND the Electoral College. Losing either will sink us. We have to keep both or else our side will never see the light of freedom again. Trump has to deliver all his promises and more. He has a huge mountain to climb with the scum fighting him every inch.
A second thought is that maybe since Obama broke new ground with his EO’s, perhaps Trump should also, by placing all his nominees in their jobs via EO’s!!!
Still has all the right enemies....
Absolutely!
First, I have always been baffled why Republicans (GOPe) seem to always agree with the pathetic Dems who get in front of a microphone and tell the world why someone should or shouldn’t have a particular position. What the hell! Hey RINO’s, watch how the Dems fight against any nominee. This is what you should have done or should do when the roles are reversed. But no, we must give in, cross the aisle and all that other BS. Blooming idiots.
Secondly, speaking of idiots, Sen. Klobuchar & Franken of MN signed the letter. These two intelligence challenged people are two of the sorriest excuses for elected officials in Congress.
Hopefully Rince knows where the skeletons are buried. Sessions certainly has been there long enough to know where leverage is.
It's the only way to be sure....
Only problem you asswipes have is you’re not in charge anymore. with that said, ESAD!
Sessions for AG.
I believe the LA Runoff is between two Republicans.
Can Sessions Vote for himself? Until he gets the Job he is still a Senator.
Good—Here are 8 targets for the next election for their seats in Congress.
