Both my girls have it. I don’t abuse it, but it’s provided peace of mind numerous times.

oh I had her pegged already through iPhone locator, but it’s getting her to talk with her mom to get her mom calmed....”but she may have forgotten her phone” (as if).
She just called in the past 5 minutes - I forgot one option....She had her headphones on studying so she didn’t hear her phone.
All clear she’s safe...prayers to those in need.

Run - Your first option. Get away if you can.
Hide - If you can’t run, hide. Barricade the door. Try not to attact attention.
Fight - If you can’t run and you can’t hide, fight as well as you can with whatever you have available. If you fight, you have a fighting chance. If you are passive, you do not. Experience shows that being passive will not save you.
Also, if Find my Iphone is enabled you can locate the phone through icloud.com. Most android phones can be located by logging in the Google user and googling where is my phone.
The response time was much better than at Columbine.

Just yesterday my brother just got a Smith and Wesson AR 15, and a SW revolver. His liberal wife couldn’t understand why. She has a boy in a dorm at College. It’s going to be interesting to see what her attitude is tonight.
Interesting, my guess is these people are not part of the trouble. Stopped because the police were checking everyone. The two do not seem to go together well.

Yep - had to call Grandma and let her know all was well also.
I did just read something about NOT trying to text or call someone in this situation because they may be trying to hide. They’re supposed to keep their phones on silent. I’m glad she’s safe!
Those are the normal protocols with an active shooter scenario. In that order. If if after running and hiding, they are confronted -fight. Use anything available to survive and stop the shooter.
