Trump's pro-Second Amendment platform could end gun sales boom
Foxnews ^

President-elect Donald Trump is expected to push to relax gun laws when he takes office, but significant changes in the firearms industry began as soon as he was elected – and some put the law of unintended consequences squarely in the cross hairs.

For instance, while Trump’s unapologetic pro-Second Amendment stance may be good for gun owners, it has already dealt a blow to manufacturers, who enjoyed record sales throughout President Obama’s eight years in office. Stocks in companies like Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger & Co. plunged on Nov. 9, and experts say it is because Trump’s election erased fears that guns would become harder to get.

“A lot of people were buying guns simply because they were worried Hillary Clinton’s regulations would make it more costly and more difficult to buy guns, and people are not going to feel quite the need to go out and buy guns now,” Crime Prevention Research Center President John Lott told FoxNews.com. “I think the stock market is a pretty good predictor of what’s going to happen, and the fact that you see drops in stock prices by almost 20 percentage points –I think that’s pretty significant.”

President elect Trump saved America from Hillary Clinton a communist that would have been the total destruction of the USA.

I was so afraid that Hillary would win that I was mentally reviewing strategies to survive in a post-America world. Obama was quite destructive to our country, and I figured that she would strike the killing blow.

The reaction of the left to this election tells me that we are not out of danger yet, but I do feel a lot more confident about our future.

Where are you looking? 5.56 is and has been readily available for a few years now. Just go online to gunbot.

I’m hoping the licensing requirements for suppressors will go away and then they will be available at lower prices.

Thanks for that info.!

Good article & comments, here:

http://tacticalintelligence.net/blog/22-cb-cap.htm

What’s the energy delivery, typically, of a .22 CB cap compared to, say, my .22 break barrel pellet rifle (which should have a muzzle velocity around 850 fps with the Crossman “Destroyer” pellets.)

The break barrel pellet rifle gets very unwieldy in certain close quarter situations, say, a big opossum inside the chicken house. I’m thinking CB cap in my long barrel .22 revolver? (One would still have to be very careful of ricochet in case the darn critter moves its head just as the shot is taken.)

Maybe I can start finding .22 ammo on the shelves again. At a reasonable price.

My 5” Ruger Mk2 shoots them LOUD. You need barrel length to have quiet. BTW, CB caps generally do not function well in semi autos. In my kids 1022, I load up the .22 CCI ‘Long’ CB caps. You have to pull the slide back for each shot but they feed nice.
Mostly I use my 1938 made Sears ranger bolt action rifle. They also feed well in my kids Henry lever gun.

I can say that my gun budget will get a necessary breather. I spent over 1K on magazines alone this year.

Yes, but the demand for waterproof, industrial grade, boat mountable electromagnets will skyrocket, especially among FReepers, many of whom will be trying desperately to recover the private arsenals they lost in TBAs.

The gun shop I go to has reduced prices over the past couple of weeks, to include ammo. It is a win as far as I am concerned.
