I am so ashamed of the idiotic voters in my state.

52% voted for the plastic bag ban.

I bet if they said it would save the environment they would vote to tax our food.

Liberals are so stupid. They’re having this knee jerk virtue signaling BS reaction, making a statement about Trump.

I don’t believe any of them have truly thought it out.

Do they understand they will lose all federal funding and protections? I doubt it. But then why should the whole country help finance the stupidity of our state government to begin with?

Who is going to pay for all of the criminal invaders? I suppose they’ll have to tax the citizens very heavily to make up for the loss of federal funding. Even if the state would be keeping what would be federal taxes it would never be enough.

No more subsidies for “green” energy, public transport, highways, I could go on and on.

Decent people will probably want to leave the state before this happens. They will build and patrol walls to keep us in and paying our taxes.

They either haven’t thought about it or the people who want this are so rich they don’t care. They can lock their gates and roll up the windows on their limos and grind their boots on the necks of the working class even harder.

They are constitutionally unable to think that through the way a rational person would. They can only think of attaining the control and proclaiming Utopia with the apparent power to implement that. What comes after can only be perfection because that is the imagined world of the leftist anywhere on the spectrum. History means nothing because that all pertains to other people who were not perfect in their intentions and ideas as the modern liberals are.

> There are enough lib dems to push this thru giving them an independent progressive socialist utopia. But I’m gonna guess they haven’t thought thru all the unintended consequences.

Do they ever? Never. I don't know if it's drugs, indoctrination, social media, mind control, but the new liberals are the most rude, arrogant, sociopathic, easily-led, guillible, ungodly, spineless, immoral, unreasonable, illogical, irresponsible creatures I've ever seen and they claim to be the most educated. Most educated at what is what I'm wondering because they don't have a lick of common sense or wisdom. None at all. And when I look at their profiles most are from wealth and travel extensively and of course attended prestigious universities. Go figure.

It will be somewhat like after the first Civil War, the losing side would be impoverished. I would carpet bag the Sh•t out of California.

It’s a big state. Lots of liberals live there but so do lots of conservatives. They don’t vanish simply because of all the lefties.

But their votes do. California conservatives might as well be on the moon for all the electoral impact they have. California is a hopeless case--now is the time for the sane to abandon California and shore up purple states.

Perhaps a state version of the electoral college is in order, to prevent the dense urban counties from controlling the destiny of the rest. I know that would drastically change California.

From NY FReeper comments, I suspect it would work in that state as well, to neuter the sewer of NYC.

Its funny when unemployed students march to secede from the union, forgetting that there are millions of workers here in California who own property that have no intentions of seceding.

(Said with tongue in cheek) a few sticks of trinitrotoluene strategically placed along the San Andreas fault line will take care of the secessionists quickly, and, very finally. (GRIN)

“I am not opposed to CA leaving.”

Just think of all those votes not screwing up our elections!

I noted this before, but I shall repeat: The Left is PLAYING WITH FIRE here. Sure, there are millions that want to see California become a separate country, but what they don’t seem to realize is that there are HUGE NUMBERS of Americans that would be VERY HAPPY to see their two left-wing Senators, their very-strongly Democrat US House delegation, and their huge number of Electoral College voters simply ‘disappear’ into some kind of Socialist ‘paradise’.

So HAVE AT IT, California...we in the REAL AMERICA will do whatever is needed to support your efforts.

“Last time I checked, they get back less than they pay in taxes. Seceding would make that even better because the federal bureaucracy wouldn’t get its cut.”

Have you ever heard the saying: “Figures don’t lye but liars figure”?

The “California gets back less than it gives” is a prime example of that. The people saying it don’t include welfare benefits such as food stamps in those totals. Also remove the money generated from various military bases and the figure changes. California is actually one of the states most dependent upon the Feds. ESPECIALLY the coastal areas that want to secede. Split the state North to South at the edge of the mountains and the Western coastal areas receive huge subsidies.

California also depends on other states to produce electricity and provide them with water.

Where they might make some of that back is by gaining control of the lands administered by the Federal government that cannot currently be taxed

The problem here is that misery (certainly lefty misery) craves company.

California being lefty all by its solo self? There’s no fun in that. None at all! Gotta drag the whole rest of the country into it, kicking and screaming! (Which won’t happen now that Trump roolz.)

California lefties, denied all their former Federal tentacles by a yuge Trumpian swamp-draining that will depend on California about as much as his own election did, will mope... but they will be powerless.

True dat.

Which will make the effect of the Trumpian swamp-draining on California that much sweeter.

California can go if it wants to... it’s already a cancer on the rest of the country which should be cut out of the USA.
