Jill Stein calling for recount in 3 swing states over hacking concerns
Hot Air.com ^ | November 23, 2016 | JOHN SEXTON

Green Party candidate Jill Stein has announced her intention to request a recount in three swing states: Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. These are the same states Hillary Clinton was urged to request recounts in by a computer scientist who suggested voting machines in those states may have been hacked by Russia. Stein doesn’t mention Clinton but does say the votes should be recounted because of concerns about foreign government hacking and unreliable voting machines.

Stein’s full announcement was posted on her campaign website. It reads in part:

The Stein/Baraka Green Party Campaign is launching an effort to ensure the integrity of our elections. We are raising money to demand recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania– three states where there is a significant need to verify machine-counted vote totals. Please donate to this initiative today.

To give you a sense of the problem, the voting machines used in Wisconsin were banned in California after they were shown to be highly vulnerable to hacking and malicious programming due to lacking security features.

There is also a direct quote from Stein who says, “After a divisive and painful presidential race, in which foreign agents hacked into party databases, private email servers, and voter databases in certain states, many Americans are wondering if our election results are reliable.” She continues, “That’s why the unexpected results of the election and reported anomalies need to be investigated before the 2016 presidential election is certified. We deserve elections we can trust.” Emphasis in the original.

It’s true that “many Americans” are questioning the results of the election but almost all of them voted for Hillary Clinton, not Jill Stein. According to the New York Times, Stein received 1.1% of the vote in Michigan and Wisconsin and 0.8% in Pennsylvania. So there is no chance a recount could benefit her in any way, but it could (potentially) benefit Clinton.

Earlier today the computer scientist whose examination of the election results is behind the push for a recount, J. Alex Halderman, wrote a post on Medium arguing that hacking of voting machines by Russia was possible, though he also said he believed it was more likely the pre-election polls were simply wrong. Like Stein, Halderman said the vote counts should be verified for the sake of “electoral integrity.”

So at this point everyone pushing for a recount claims to be acting solely out of concern for electoral integrity, but given the timing of this announcement, the fact that it is focused on the same 3 states Halderman cited and that it mentions hacking as a concern, it’s fair to wonder if Halderman has been talking to Stein’s campaign as well as the Clinton’s campaign. Alternatively, it’s possible Stein was simply influenced by reading about Halderman’s finding. And one last possibility, maybe there some back-channel communication between the Clinton camp and the Stein camp?

The big question now is: Will the Clinton campaign piggyback on this announcement and support a recount (for the sake of “electoral integrity” of course). That would bring a cheer from progressives who are still despondent over the election results. Of course it’s also exactly the kind of challenge to the results which the media and the Clinton campaign ridiculed Trump for refusing to rule out before the election. Does Clinton really want her name associated with a late challenge that is unlikely to change the results?

Jill, you are outside the margin of error.

GOP will never have riots.

Now if enough ComDem theft, eventually some blood might flow. Not riots.

Stein got paid for this recount request by the Clinton Foundation, no doubt…their idea of charity at Christmas. Hey, old Bernie cashed in on at least a million and bought a $650,000 beach house for cash right after Hillary won the Democrat nomination. That’s the way the Clintons role. Those “hacked votes” are being manufactured right now, just as three recounts finally ended with that clown, Al Franken (D-MN), winning his first senate race. They keep “finding” votes until they get enough to win.

It could also back fire. It could be that Clinton stole some of Stein’s votes, AND it can also be that Clinton stole some of Trump’s votes. It could be that he won by a much higher margin than he’s given credit for.

I kept thinking of an old scripture while watching the pre-election events.

Isaiah 54:17New King James Version (NKJV)

17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

There are others as well which come to mind in light of his willingness to stand by Israel and the offspring of Abraham (which includes Christians).

Trump isn’t a perfect man, but he’s doing something right in God’s eyes from what is seen publicly.

Stein is nothing more than a Clinton puppet. Always has been.

Besides, this request is for only one of two things; either to allow the Democrats who control these counties to find more votes (which they always do because they are corrupt), or to give the Democrat minions yet another bogus talking point to call the election into question. They are so stupid that of course they will believe this tripe hook, line and sinker.

Democrats have screamed, since 1960, that there was no voter fraud (there was) and now that they lost.....it is all voter fraud......PATHETIC.

Stein’s sole purpose was to attract Bernie voters who would otherwise go to Trump.

I voted on an electronic machine here in Texas because that is all they had and when I asked for a paper ballot I was told they do not use those. I asked the lady who was helping me to my machine what happens if you need to recount and she said the information was stored on the little cartridge. My question is how can you recount those votes what do you compare it to? Couldn’t someone just magically come up with a new cartridge with more votes on it? After all they know exactly how many votes they need now.

The whole thing seems fishy to me. Stein got what 2 % she could never win an election so i think there is something devious going on or about to.

They need to recount 3 or 4 times until Hillary is up by 1, then they can stop

There’s one little problem with Stein’s little bugaboo.

George Soros IT Group controls and maintains nearly all electronic voting machines and voting reporting systems in the United States. The question of just why someone like Soros would own or be allowed to own or control this software is very disturbing.

Doesn't the candidate have to be within 1/2 percent or less than 1000 votes of a challenger to have standing for a recount? It wouldn't change the outcome for Stein anyway. Sour grapes.

I agree.

Since they are primarily recounting in counties that still use some kind of paper ballot that gets fed into a machine and scanned, it is possible (not necessarily likely) that they could have slipped in tens of thousands of fraudulent ballots in with the legitimate Election Day ballots over the past two plus weeks. They could also have gone thru and removed Trump votes at the same time. I doubt the places where these paper ballots are stored are being guarded 24/7.

Then when they “count” the votes again during the recount in all three states, it then looks like Hillary has 10’s of thousands of more votes than what was counted on election day and she would then use the results to contest the election in each of these states.

Of course the Trump campaign can question the two week delay in doing a recount and also get every election official to swear under oath that neither the ballots or ballot storage rooms were under 24/7 guard and that a person(s) could easily access the ballot area and either tamper with/remove existing ballots or place bogus ballots in the stacks of legally cast ballots without getting caught.

It would be hard to believe that all three states would just happen to fail to count tens of thousands of ballots. These experienced elections officials are much more competent than that.

Of course the state elections officials could just deny Steins request for a recount citing the fact that she will not benefit in any way from a recount and has zero percent chance to win! You would think that state elections officials have the freedom to turn down a fringe candidates request for a recount who has no chance to win.

The ‘RATS in these states have had fifteen days to make the necessary “adjustments” to give Clintoonie the “win”. They might want to give up on this fiasco. The American people will have them wishing for only snowflake riots in the streets again if the commies try to steal this election. We’ve had it with these bottom feeding thieving bastards.

If they have paid her to get her to talk, they must have the manufactured votes ready to go.
