Exactly.

It is horrible to anticipate four years of Cooper’s demagoguery and corruption.

Yeah, but Canada has four major political parties, plus some minor ones that are powerful at the provincial level. It’s not uncommon for a leader to be elected with 35% of the popular vote.

Cooper refused to stand up and fight to prevent men in women’s bathrooms. He has done nothing for NC and the rumor before the election was that the Dems couldn’t beat Trump so they went all out to get the governorship. Idiots here have heard nothing but how the state suffered because McCrory fought the perverts on the bathroom issue.

You’re so right, In NC basketball Trumps politics.

And I’m sure that’s why it went down that way.

As dumb as Easley was, Bev Perdue was no improvement. Talk about a liar — they would run neck and neck.

Same crap “sports fan” reason we lost Tom Corbett as governor in PA 2 years ago. He was involved in investigating Joe Paterno at Penn State for failing to report sex abuse, leading to his termination. But because Paterno was a beloved figure of cult worship, the voters punished Corbett for his role in investigating him. So in a GOP nationwide sweep, he, like McCrory, became one of the few Republicans to lose his seat.

“Almost 40 percent of voters in exit polls on Tuesday said they considered Corbett’s handling of the investigation a very or somewhat important to their decision, although Corbett himself had already decided to avoid the subject on the campaign trail.

“There was no winning this battle with those who are fervently of the belief that I did what they believe I did,” he told the Inquirer.”

I know some folks who are well connected in PA political circles, and they tell me a very different story. Corbett was sunk by his massive fuel tax hike, for one thing — after his own “no new taxes” promise.

I live in NC. I know some who voted Trump/Cooper and heard a lot of the same from around town.

And unfortunately, Yes basketball is that important in NC.

The tax hike was something phased in slowly over time, so there was no sticker shock.

People outside the state like the WSJ editorial board seemed puzzled as to why he lost. Everyone who lives here knew it was all about Paterno. The poll showing 40%!!! said Paterno was a major factor is all you need to know.

NC has a LOT of entrenched, corrupt democrat judges.

NC Democrats are probably more corrupt than just about any in the Country. Nasty liberals. Even the native Democrats.

Trump won by a pretty wide margin in NC. If there was fraud it would have been in all races like they did with absentee votes here in PA and Hillary would have more votes in NC.

Of course, the existence of our ‘dipper provincial government falls totally in the lap of Jim Prentice, may the Lord have mercy on his departed soul. By calling the election when Wildrose was in shambles, he figured he could capture all the conservatives, both firm and soft, red and blue, and get the PCs elected, yet again. In the end, I believe that many ‘red’ conservatives were angry with his early election call, merely to try to get another majority, and voted for the ‘dippers. ‘Blue’ conservatives stuck with the Wildrose, too few to form a government.

I am a little confused about ‘four major political parties’ here, unless you are including the Québec only ‘Bloc Québécois’.

Give credit to Nenshi however, for getting the college kids to vote, though their choice was of very poor quality!

Yes, I included the Bloc Quebecois in the major parties — though they are now considered “independents” in Parliament because they haven’t won enough seats to be considered an official party.

Basketball and coal ash

Many voters in NC fee McCrory was watching out for Duke energy first and the citizens second.

Recounts inevitably result in newly discovered votes for democrats.

Bags of missed votes show up in trunks of DNC officials who forgot, etc. etc. etc..
